Jon Alden Ogan, 87, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born to Paul and Kathryn (Bright) Ogan on April 1, 1938, in Wabash, Indiana.
Jon was a 1956 graduate of Somerset High School. He served in the United States Army. Jon married Susan Vrooman on November 20, 1965. She passed on November 25, 2022. He worked for General Tire in Wabash as an Associate Chemist. Jon was a member of Bass Pro and also held a membership with Wabash Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and going out with his Monday Night Group; but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Jon is survived by one daughter, Misty Marz of Wabash, Indiana; five grandchildren, Brayden Ogan of Wabash, Indiana, Mikayla Marz (Ignatius Boet) of Wabash, Indiana, Reid Votaw (Alexis Straley) of LaFontaine, Indiana, Peyton Ogan of Wabash, Indiana, Caleb Ogan of Wabash, Indiana; six great-grandchildren, Percy Boet, Rowan Boet, Peter Boet, Paisley Votaw, Lainey Votaw, and Josephine Votaw; and one brother, Jerry (Lois) Ogan of Frankton, Indiana. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Shawn Ogan, who passed away on January 10, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Somerset, Indiana.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to be directed to Wabash Christian Church in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.
