Robert K. Eviston

Robert K. Eviston, 92, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Wellbrooke of Wabash in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late Hugh and Hazel (Matthews) Eviston on April 5, 1923 in Wabash County, Indiana.

He was a graduate from Lincolnville High School. Robert was a farmer and retired from Wabash County Hospital as a purchasing buyer. He was a friend of Doris George for 30 years, she survives. His memberships include Hannah Masonic Lodge #61 of Wabash, Indiana for 52 years and Farm Bureau of Wabash, Indiana. He was a lifetime sports fan, especially Basketball. Robert loved to read the paper.

He is survived by sons, Michael Eviston (Kathy) of Wabash, Indiana, and Timothy Eviston (Nancy) of Wabash, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Kathy (Richard) Wehrly of Wabash, Indiana; sister, Mrs. Bonnie (Floyd) Fearnow of Kokomo, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Eviston Jr., brother, Matthew Eviston, two sisters, Nina Frank and Jeanette Howard, two grandsons, and one great grandson.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Rev. Phil Lake officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Wabash County, Indiana. Preferred memorials are directed to Wabash/Miami County Home Healthcare and Hospice, 710 N. East Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Earnest "Ernie" C. Swain

Earnest “Ernie” C. Swain, 96, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine, Indiana. He was born to the late Wm. Henry and Bessie Ellen (Caton) Swain on November 19, 1918 in St. Clair County, Missouri.

Earnest married Charline Shannon Hardman in 1945, she passed away in 1959, then he married Freida Cole Tyler in 1960, she passed away in 1993. He retired from Fisher Body in 1980. Earnest was a member of Submarine Vets, American Legion Post 368 of Van Buren, Indiana, Fisher Body Union 971, Fisher Body Sympathy Club, and the Cilvilan Conservation Corps. He served his country in the United States Navy, during WWII.

He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Karen (Bob) Renner of Clearwater, Florida and Mrs. Nancy (Noble) Truex of Denver, Indiana; step daughters, Mrs. Penny (Don) Korporal of Warren, Indiana and Mrs. Sherry (Richard) Anderson of Houston, Texas; 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, along with his wife and parents.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontiane, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontiane IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Christopher S. Erb

Christopher S. Erb, 41, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home. He was born on June 14, 1974 in Los Angeles, California to Alfredo Rodriguez of Wabash, Indiana and the late, Linda Lou Erb-Rodriguez.

Chris is also survived by daughter, Ashley Lynn Erb of Los Angeles, California; Jessie Rameriz of Wabash, Indiana; and sister, Jessica Rameriz of Andrews, Indiana.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Catherine Joann Brown



Catherine Joann Brown, 27, of Gas City, Indiana passed away at 7:31 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 in Swayzee, Indiana. She was born to Kenny Stiddom of Adamsville, Tennessee and Tawna (Miracle) Davis of Memphis, Tennessee on November 20, 1987 in Wabash, Indiana.

She is also survived by daughter, Kaelynne Emily; brother, James Stiddom of Adamsville, Tennessee, and sister, Crystal Stiddom of North Manchester, Indiana.

Eileen B. Shepard, 89, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 6:49 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born to the late John and Maebelle (Gearhart) Heiser on February 14, 1926 in Grant County, Indiana.

Eileen graduated from Sweetser High School. She worked for Sears in Marion, Indiana, then for Kmart in Florida. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Gas City, Indiana.
She is survived by two son, Ron Weaver (Ruth) of Missouri and Michael Weaver of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Jennifer (Greg) West of Marion, Indiana and Becky Elliott of Wabash, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene and four brothers.

Betty E. Guenin

Betty E. Guenin, 91, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home. She was born to the late Kenneth and Myrtle (Gaines) Howard on November 6, 1923 in Wabash County, Indiana.

She was a graduate from Lincolnville High School. Betty married William Joseph Guenin on March 20, 1942, he passed away on February 10, 2000. She was the owner and operator of Glamourette Beauty Shop in LaFontaine, Indiana, also worked at A.F. Billings in Wabash, Indiana.

Betty mostly enjoyed cooking noodles for and being with her family. Betty was a member and baptized at Lincolnville United Methodist Church, then she became a member of LaFontaine Christian Church. She is also a member of Women’s Club House of Wabash, Indiana and Marie Webster Quilt Guild of Marion, Indiana.

She is survived by two sons, Larry O. Guenin (Marcia) and Rich Guenin both of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Jane (Steve) Peebles of Wabash, Indiana; grandchildren, Stacie Stubbs of Texas, R.J. Guenin (Kay) of LaFontaine, Indiana, Tammy (Chad) Kennedy of Bourbon, Indiana, Missy West of Texas, Kari (Clif) Airgood of Lincolnville, Indiana, Alissa (Mark) Deeter of Wabash, Indiana, and Derek (Kasey) Peebles of Bunker Hill, Indiana; 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny, Russell, Robert, Richard, and Donald Howard and sisters, Mary Alice Owen, Ruth Calender, and Dorothy Evelyn Williams.

Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at LaFontaine Christian Church, 202 Bruner Pike, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Dan Guenin officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.
