Diana J. Collins

Diana J. Collins, 47, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 1:48 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Parkview Wabash Hospital in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on July 24, 1969 in Wabash, Indiana to Paul D. Moore and Kathy (Coble) Barker-Rowe, she survives in Wabash, Indiana.

Diana was a server, bartender, and cook at Smitty’s in Wabash, Indiana. She loved fishing and gardening.

Diana along with her parents is survived by a companion, Joseph L. McClanahan of Wabash, Indiana; two sons, Troy Moore of Wabash, Indiana and Derek Collins of Huntington, Indiana; and a sister, Robin of Tennessee.

Siert Clark Teerling Jr.

Siert Clark Teerling Jr., 72, formerly of Wabash, Indiana passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Florence, Alabama. He was born to the late Siert Clark Teerling Sr. and Louise (Walker) Teerling on October 2, 1944 in Cook County, Illinois.

Clark served his country in the United States Navy. He worked at Kroger Egg prior to Hiz Inc. in Wabash, Indiana as a Tow Motor Operator. Clark was a member of North Wood United Methodist Church and volunteered for the Salvation Army.

He is survived by sons, Michael McNear and Wayne L. McNear both of Alabama; daughter, Joann DeLong of Tennessee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters and one son.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Gary Lee Bowman

Gary Lee Bowman, 58, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 1:16 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born to the late Richard and Opal (Kendall) Bowman on November 21, 1957 in Marion, Indiana.

Gary was an independent millwright welder. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and playing pool.

Gary is survived by son, Jason Bowman of Wabash, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. April (Josh) Smith of Wabash, Indiana; brother, Randy Bowman (Mary) of Pierceton, Indiana; sisters, Carlene Bowman of Anderson, Indiana and Mrs. Glenna (Lowell) Shelton of Somerset, Indiana; grandchildren, Vance Smith and Annabella Smith both of Wabash, Indiana. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Dorothy Bowman.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Kay Gaier officiating. Preferred memorials are directed to Grant County Rescue Mission.

Galen O. Davenport

Galen O. Davenport, 96, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home with his daughter's by his side. He was born to the late Glenwood and Wilhelmina (Roher) Davenport on March 20, 1920 in Constantine, Michigan.

Galen’s family moved from Constantine to Wabash, Indiana in 1935. He was a 1938 graduate from Wabash High School. He was employed at Container Corporation of America in 1938 as a coating mill laboratory technician starting at .30 cents/hour. He was employed there over 15 years and left in 1954 as a draftsman earning $1.89/hour. Galen married Monyeen M. Johnson on September 23, 1944, she passed away in 2005. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps, during WWII in the 414th Bomb Squad unit as a radio operator and mechanic for B17’s and B24’s from 1941-1945. In 1954 Galen started Davenport Coal and Fuel Oil Company in Converse, Indiana, he added a fertilizer business as well. He retired in 1990 and worked part time for Big R Company and Clarks Foods. Galen enjoyed the Army Air Corp reunions over the years with the last one being in 2006 at the WWII memorial in Washington D.C.. As a lifetime member of the Mississinewa Sky Hawks he enjoyed the friendships and hobby of building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He was a master woodworker for many years creating many wonderful cherished pieces. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Somerset, Indiana.

Galen is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rita (Harry)Looker of Clarksburg, West Virginia and Mrs. Ruth Ann (Steven) Pilgrim of Wabash, Indiana; grandchildren, Emily Boardman (Jeremy), Lisa Laskowski (Aaron), Valerie Blurton (Jim), Mike Looker (Jennifer), and Matt Looker (Jamie); and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lowell and William “Bill” Davenport; and sisters, Glenadine and Carol Ann Davenport, daughter, Marcia Serra, and a baby grandson, Jeffery Looker.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Crystal Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Grant County, Indiana, with Military Honors.

Roberta M. Brinegar

Roberta M. Brinegar, 92, Wabash, died at 4:06 p.m. on Saturday, October 1st at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born in Lafayette, IN on January 27, 1924 to the late Gloe and Goldie (Deboy) Deardorff. She graduated from Linlawn High School in the class of 1942. She married Edward B. Brinegar in Wabash on April 25, 1942. He died on February 18, 2000.

Roberta faithfully lived out her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Wabash Alliance, and formerly the Wabash Christian Church. She was very interested in sharing the gospel and hosted Child Evangelism Good News Clubs at her home. Roberta spent most of her life as a housewife, and worked at Kroger Egg Exchange, Data View and Wagner Industries.

She is survived by one son, Ronald L. (Teresa) Brinegar of Gold Canyon, AZ, a daughter, Patricia M (Richard) Kirby, Wabash, three Grandsons, Craig (Michelle) Kirby and Corey Kirby of Fort Wayne, IN, Bob (Laura) Brinegar, Sonora, CA,  and three Granddaughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Height, Railroad Flat, CA, Susan (Joe) Lewis, Dayton, NV, and Heidi VanPatten, Carson City, NV., one step Grandson, David (Rachael) Martinez, Glendale, AZ and one step-Grandaughter, Kerie Hawkins, Washington DC, 25 Great-Grandkids and 24 Great-Great-Grandkids.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Brinegar and a Grandson, Jimmy Lee Ballschmidt and a sister, Doris Haverstock.

She lived in Wabash all her life, and was raised by Rella and George Niccum of Wabash, spending summers in Lafayette with her dad during her school years. The last seven years, she lived in Gold Canyon, Arizona with her son Ron and daughter-in-law, Teresa (Terri) until April when she moved into Augusta Cottage at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre of Wabash.

Funeral services will be at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue in Wabash, Indiana 46992 on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Tom Curry officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory, 11201 S. Marion Road -35, Marion, Indiana. Preferred memorials are the Wabash Alliance Church or Child Evangelism.
