Loraine Watkins


Loraine Watkins, 75 of Wabash, Indiana passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 9:25 a.m.. She was born to the late Bobby and Dussie (Ansel) Bentley on June 26, 1937 in Knot County, Kentucky.
She married Donald E. Watkins Sr.  on July 11, 1953 in Martin, Kentucky, he survives. She worked at Kroger Egg, United Tech and retired from Wabash Magnetics. She was affiliated with Wabash Free Will Baptist Erie Street Church. She loved garage selling, flea markets, working in her garden, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Sam Watkins (Linda) of Wabash, Indiana and Donald Watkins Jr. (Elizabeth) of Wabash, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Myron (Shelia) Bishir of Wabash, Indiana; five brothers, Ray Jacobs (Janet), Charles Chaffens, Junior Ansel (Barb) all of Wabash, Indiana, Dennis Ansel (Ruth) of Tennessee, and Walt Ansel (Carla) of Wabash, Indiana; two sisters, Aileen Click of Wabash, Indiana and Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Johnson of Kite, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, sister and a great grandchild.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013  at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to be directed to Wabash-Miami County Home Healthcare and Hospice, 710 N. East Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Jerry Lee Shears


Jerry Lee Shears, 73 of Durand, Michigan passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Avalon Hospice in Flint, Michigan. He was born to the late George and Lee Ella (Bowers) Shears on June 12, 1939 in Honeycreek, Indiana, where he grew up. He lived most of his life in Wabash and Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was a 1957 graduate from Middletown High School. He worked for 15 years at General Tire in Wabash, Indiana, then retired from Cooper-Standard Automotive, Inc. in Auburn, Indiana. He was a member at Church of the Nazarene in Durand, Michigan.

He is survived by daughter, Melissa Marie Shears of Durand Michigan; sons, Tony Lee Shears and Scott Douglas Shears-wife Roxanne (Brady) Shears of Wabash, Indiana; brother, George Michael Shears- wife Loretta (Hileman) Shears of Elizabethton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Travis Lee Shears of Wabash, Indiana, Janelle Marie Ross of Durand, Michigan, Shannon Marie Shears of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nicole Schroll of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Douglas Shears.

Service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Marjorie J. Williams-Miller

Marjorie J. Williams-Miller, 90, Wabash, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 1:28 am at Bickford Cottages Assisted Living, Wabash, Indiana. She was born on March 15, 1922 to the late Mack Edward and Cecil Faye (Alexander) Johnson in Kokomo, Indiana.
She graduated from Somerset High School in 1940 and from the Accounting program at International Business College in 1941. She married Loren L. Williams on March 6, 1943 in Wabash, Indiana. Following the death of Loren on May 6, 1967, she married Kenneth H. Miller, in Wabash, Indiana on November 24, 1971. He passed away August 2, 1992. She married John J. Rasor on March 23, 2001.
Marjorie was a member of Wabash Friends Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for Leath Furniture and Wabash Magnetics in Wabash during the 1960's and 1970's. She owned and operated Pershing's Garden and Pet Store in Marion, Indiana during the 1980's before retiring to spend her winters in Tampa and Maderia Beach, Florida, for 20 plus years. She enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and basketball games, playing cards, fishing, and collecting shells and bird houses.
She is survived by a son, Steven (Carol) Williams of Peru, IN; a daughter, Linda Williams-Kirby of Fort Wayne, IN; three grandchildren, Angela Kirby-Faught, St. Louis, Mo, Kristina Williams, LaFontaine, IN, Brian Williams, Tuscon, AZ; 2 great grandchildren, Dylan and Ryan Faught, St. Louis, MO; and two sisters, Betty Sims, Kokomo, IN, and Frances Jackson, Peru, IN.
Along with her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Britton.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN 46992, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Calling hours will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
