Johnny Swafford

Johnny Swafford, 59, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 3:33 a.m. in his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.  He was born on March 20, 1956 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Ernest Swafford and Nancy (Moser) Swafford, she survives in Disko, Indiana.
Johnny was a self-employed sub-contractor, John’s Contracting in Wabash, Indiana. He married Christina Owen on May 12, 1994, she survives. He attended Wabash Friends Church in Wabash, Indiana.

Johnny is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Sabrina (Bill) Mixon of Kokomo, Indiana; five sons, Josh Simons (Tiffany) of Mexico, Indiana, Chris Burnham (Ember) of Marion, Indiana, Jamie Burnham of Wabash, Indiana, Todd Burnham of Wabash, Indiana, and David Burnham (Mallory Tiffany) of Elwood, Indiana; brother, Ernie Swafford; three sisters, Mrs. Jennifer (Bill) Halverson of Disko, Indiana, Sue Black of Wabash, Indiana, and Mrs. Nancy (Jim) Taylor of Wabash, Indiana; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Jo Van Copeland

Jo Van Copeland, 66, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born to the late Paul and Hilda (Summerland) Camp on November 3, 1948 in Wabash, Indiana.

She was a 1967 graduate of Wabash High School. Jo married Terry E. Copeland on September 23, 1967, he survives. She retired from Penske Office in Wabash, Indiana. Jo enjoyed dressing up as clowns for parades and events throughout the community. She loved her dogs Penny and Molly. Jo was a member of Wabash Church of the Brethren.

She is also survived by two sisters, Becky Shear of Lagro, Indiana and Marie Rose of Silver Lake, Indiana; 9 nieces and nephews; her father-in-law, Eugene Copeland and 2 sister-in-laws, Margo Layman and Denise Rayburn; and 4 nieces and nephews on her in-laws side.

No services will be held per Jo’s request.  Preferred memorials may be directed to Wabash County Animal Shelter, 810 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
