Terry R. Stewart

 

Terry R. Stewart, 70, of Wabash, Indiana formerly of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on, Monday, June 27, 2022, at his home. He was born to Roy and Mildred (McCall) Stewart on February 6, 1952, in Brazil, Indiana.

Terry married Susan E. Shambaugh on September 3, 1993. He worked for the Bridge and Building Department CSX Railroad as a locomotive crane operator. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, was an avid golfer, and being outdoors on the lake. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wabash, the HOG Chapter of Wabash, and Brotherhood of Way Employees Railroad Division of Teamsters.

Terry is survived by his wife, Susan Stewart of Wabash, Indiana; two sons, Scott Stewart of Brazil, Indiana, Shawn (Vicki) Stewart of Poland, Indiana; three daughters, Heather Stewart of Brazil, Indiana, Mary Stewart of Mason, Ohio, Caroline Stewart of Wabash, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brittany (Adam) Visk, Tyler (Danielle) Marshall, and Michael Stewart; and four great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave. Wabash, Indiana, with Pastor J.P. Freeman and Pastor John Cook officiating. Burial will be at Falls Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to be directed to the Woman’s Club House in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.

Jeffery M. Capes

 

Jeffery M. Capes, 57, passed away at 5:36 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in Avon, Indiana.  He was born on July 20, 1964, to Jerry L. Capes and Roberta (Harrell) Alexander in Wabash, Indiana.

Jeffery worked in the Painter’s Union in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a movie buff and an avid fisherman. Jeff especially loved being with his grandchildren.

Jeffery is survived by his mother, Roberta Alexander of Wabash, Indiana; one son, Travis Capes of Marion, Indiana; three daughters, Amber Gulley, Kiri Burks, and Alexis Hill, all of Marion, Indiana; one sister, Shelly Steiner of Arizona; and 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his father and one brother.

Private family services will take place at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Larry C. Wilkerson

 

Larry C. Wilkerson, 78, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:33 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his home.  He was born on September 9, 1943, to Richard and Wilma (Faust) Wilkerson in Wabash, Indiana.

Larry was a 1962 graduate of Wabash High School. He served in the United States Navy. He served on the Wabash City Fire Department from 1971 to 1995, then retiring in 1995. He then worked for Dana Corp. in Andrews, Indiana, then worked for Hileman’s Heating and Cooling. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15 of Wabash and a member of the American Legion Riders of Wabash. 

Larry is survived by one son, Drew (Molly) Wilkerson of Stevensville, Michigan; one daughter, Emily King of Wabash, Indiana; four grandchildren, Alexa (Jake) Dials, Keaton Wilkerson, Edison (Kennedy) King, Gracie Mae Wilkerson; four great-grandchildren, Ella King, Kassius Dials, Koda Dials, Kaliber Dials; two sisters, Sharon (Michael) Fisher of Wabash, Indiana, Gaye Lynn (Steve) Orr of Wabash, Indiana; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was proceeded in death by one son, Andrew Wilkerson, and his parents.

Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m. on Tuesday June 21, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Homes 231 Falls Ave. Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Private family graveside services will follow at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.   

Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to be directed to the American Legion Post 15 in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.

Tamara L. Gatchel

 

Tamara L. Gatchel, 52, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her home.  She was born on March 28, 1970, to Terry and Margaret “Peggy” Poole in Wabash, Indiana.

Tamara was a homemaker. She married Gregory Gatchel on January 30, 1999. She attended Chapel Ministries Outreach in Peru, Indiana. She was an animal lover, enjoyed horses, and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Tamara is survived by husband, Greg Gatchel of Wabash; three sons, Shawn Gatchel, Jack Gatchel, and Layne Gatchel, all of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Ashley (Brad) Ellis of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Rachel Gatchel of Wabash, Indiana, and Sarah Gatchel of Wabash, Indiana; five grandchildren, Cadence “Sugarbear” Gatchel, Brantley “Porkchop” Gatchel, Gabriella Keppel, Keaton Fanning, and Jaylen Tooley; one sister, Christina (James) Wadkins of Warsaw, Indiana; mother-in-law, Mary Gatchel of Wabash, Indiana; and one uncle, Jack Poole of Wabash, Indiana. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Terry and Margaret Poole; grandparents, Woodrow and Ruth Struble; and Father-in-law, Jack Gatchel.

Funeral Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Homes 231 Falls Ave. Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral home.

Douglas E. Adams

 

Douglas E. Adams, 77, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 2:24 a.m. on, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born to Wayne B. and Delores (Bates) Adams on June 21, 1944, in Wabash, Indiana.

Doug was a 1962 graduate of Wabash High School. He married Cherryl Christman on July 31, 1965. She passed away June 17, 2012. He was a member of Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wabash, Indiana and Knights of Columbus Wabash, Indiana 2957. Doug was a Past State Deputy of the Indiana Knights of Columbus, Past Board President of Gibault Children’s Services, Past Member of Izaak Walton League, Past County Coordinator for Wabash Special Olympics, Member of Wabash County F.I.S.H Board, Past member of Wabash Parks Board, Wabash City Schools board, Wabash Board of Zoning, Present Member of Wabash City Council. He was the grilled cheese maker at Access Youth Center in Wabash. He also took pride in helping the downtown merchants with maintenance. He was honored as Distinguished Citizen of the Year in 2020.

Doug is survived by his three sons, Anthony D. (Melinda) Adams of Wabash, Indiana, Christopher W. (Angela) Adams of Huntington, Indiana, Justin P. (Misty) Adams of Wabash, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents and his wife, Cherryl, two brothers, and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wabash, with Father Levi Nkwocha officiating. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Preferred memorials are to be directed to Special Olympics Area 5 or F.I.S.H.

Stevie K. Butler

 

Stevie K. Butler, 77, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10:07 a.m. on, Monday, May 30, 2022, at her home. She was born to Steve and Ruth (Butt) Novotney on July 20, 1944, in Brazil, Indiana.

Stevie married Larry D. Butler, January 1961. She was a homemaker. She loved her dog and the joy of her life, were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Stevie is survived by her husband, Larry Butler of Wabash, Indiana; two daughters, Virginia “Jenny” Butler of Wabash, Indiana, Sonia (Michael) Holley of Roann, Indiana; two grandchildren, Derek (Kelli) Holley of Roann, Indiana, Paige (Alex) Holley of Evansville, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Arie Holley, Bryce Holley, and Levi Markle. She is proceeded in death by her parents.

Private family graveside services will be held at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
