David L. Bates

 

David L. Bates, 82, of Marion, Indiana passed away at 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 4, 1939, to Joseph and Myrtle (Stiner) Bates.

David was a graduate of 1957 graduate of Churubusco High School. He attended the Wisconsin School of Banking. He married Carol Dissinger on February 26, 1961. She survives. He retired from Star Financial Bank after 40 years. He was a member of the LaFontaine United Methodist Church and the Marion Lions Club. He was a Trustee for the Board for Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  

David is survived by his wife, five sons, Brent (Patty) Bates of Yorktown, Virginia, Chris (Rae) Bates of Denver, Indiana, Darren (Kay) Bates of Muncie, Indiana, Eric (Edgena) Bates of Snohomish, Washington, Neal (Sara) Bates of Marion, Indiana, two daughters, April (Jay) Striegle of Indianapolis, Indiana, Angel (David) Fisher of Ashburn, Virginia, two sisters, Stevia Webster and Marcia Maxwell both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and four grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at LaFontaine United Methodist Church 2 West Kendall Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating.

Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. at the church.

Preferred memorials are directed to the LaFontaine United Methodist Church or the Marion Lions Club in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.

Lois A. Bricker

 Lois A. Bricker, 76, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 5:51 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her home in Wabash, Indiana. She was born to Robert Morris and Mildred J. (Jackson) Bricker on August 26, 1945, in Wabash, Indiana.

Lois was a 1963 graduate of Wabash High School. She worked at the Wabash Plain Dealer and also taught piano, organ, and voice lessons. She was a member of Wabash Friends Church, and formerly played the organ at the church. 

Lois is survived by two brothers, Ralph M. Bricker and Lee E. (Janice) Bricker both of San Antonio, Texas. She is proceeded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana with Pastor David Phillips officiating.

Preferred memorials are to be directed to the Wabash County Animal Shelter in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.

David Jivery

 

David Wayne Jivery, 73, of Somerset, Indiana passed away at 12:41 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at his home. He was born to Albert Lyle and Ann (Huff) Jivery on November 18, 1948, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

David was a 1967 graduate of Southwood High School. He retired from Ford Meter Box in Wabash as a pattern maker. He married Kathy Taylor on March 2, 1974. She survives. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie. He was a member of the Converse United Methodist Church. Also, a member of Kairos, Forman Emmaus.

David is survived by his wife Kathy, two sons, Scott A. (Stacey) Jivery of Kokomo, Indiana, and Michael P. (Rose) Jivery of Raymond, New Hampshire, two brothers, Richard Lyle Jivery of Alhambra, California, Terry Allen (Phyllis) Jivery of LaFontaine, Indiana, and 8 grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents.

David’s wishes were to have private family services at Lake Erie.

Patricia Fisher

 

Patricia M. Fisher, 81, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 9:39 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Millers Merry Manor East in Wabash, Indiana. She was born to Russell and Mary Allison on January 30, 1941, in Attica, Indiana.

Patricia was a homemaker. She married Benjamin E. Fisher on May 10, 1960. He passed away on March 1st, 2007.

Patricia is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Dale) Amburgey of Wabash, Indiana, and Sonya (Dan) Sulter of Lafayette, Indiana, one brother, Russell Allison of Lafayette, Indiana, seven grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.  She is proceeded in death by her husband, one son, and one daughter.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1718 W 350 N, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

David Carl Olson

 

David C. Olson, 59, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 7:36 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at his home in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to Larry Olson and Naomi Brewer on June 16, 1962, in Georgia.

David served in the United States Army. He married Teresa Brown in 2006. She survives.

David is survived by his wife, Teresa of Wabash, Indiana, his mother, Naomi Brewer of Sibley, Iowa, one brother, Tony Olson of Tennessee, two sisters Debbie Brewer and Dawn Brewer of Iowa, and a niece, Felisha Mary White of Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Murphy Cemetery 3416-3442 State Road 124 Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Brad Wright officiating.

Bonnie L. Reed

 

Bonnie L. Reed, 84, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her home in Wabash, Indiana. She was born to Frederick Darwin and Geneva (Shriver) Hamilton on June 29, 1937, in Wabash, Indiana.

Bonnie married Glenn Reed on May 9, 1954. He passed away April 28, 2019. She worked as a waitress at Hoosier Point for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Treaty, Indiana.

Bonnie is survived by four sons, John (Teresa) Reed of Laketon, Indiana, Timothy Reed of Wabash, Indiana, Steven Reed of Wabash, Indiana, Jeffery Reed of Peru, Indiana, three daughters, Glena Kay Reed of North Manchester, Indiana, Linda Diane (Jeffery) Ritter of Wabash, Indiana, Peggy Sue Kendall of Peru, Indiana, one sister, Nancy Wasylenko of Wabash, Indiana, 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great great-granchild. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Luan Reed, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Rick Tolley officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
