Marilyn S. McClain

 



Marilyn S. McClain, 82, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Parkview Hospital Randallia Fort Wayne, Indiana after a long hard battle with cancer. She was born to Lawrence A. and Alice Mae (Perry) Warren on May 19, 1939, in Wabash, Indiana.

Marilyn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Heritage Church in Wabash, Indiana. Marilyn was a strong Christian woman and wrote poetry and music and received several awards for it. Most of all she loved her family, church, and Pastor.

Marilyn is survived by one son, Robert J. Love Jr. of Wabash, Indiana, one daughter, Mrs. Kent (Tammy) Mullett of Wabash, Indiana, two stepdaughters, Lois McClain Brorsen and Terri McClain Hughes of Texas five grandchildren, Jeremy Steele, Tiffanie Love-Webb, Brooke Bell, Jake Love, Chloe Jones, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister, Donna Culver of Wabash, Indiana.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, one daughter, Alice Steele, and two brothers, Larry and Ronnie Warren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Servia, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service from noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to be directed to the Wabash County Animal Shelter or the Christian Heritage Church in care of McDonald Funeral Homes.

Robert L. Prosser Jr.

 


Robert L. Prosser Jr., 83, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 4:12 p.m. on March 25, 2022, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in DeKalb County, Indiana on December 18, 1938, to Robert Sr. and Dorothy (Close) Prosser. He married Inez Beard on January 4, 1958. They have been married 64 years. She survives. 

Per Robert's request there will be no services.

Georgia R. VanMeter

 


Georgia R. VanMeter, 84, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 1:57 a.m. on, March 25, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born to Shannon B. and Lola (Murphy) Norton on June 26, 1937, in Hayti, Missouri.

Georgia married Thomas VanMeter on September 8, 1956; He survives. She was a homemaker and worked at Chippewa and Metro North Schools as a cook, she also worked at J.C. Penny in the catalog department.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Thomas VanMeter of Wabash, Indiana, two sons, Perry (Deborah) VanMeter of LaFontaine, Indiana, Scott VanMeter of Garrett, Indiana, one daughter, Mrs. Shanna (Michael) Eltzroth of Wabash, Indiana, five grandchildren, Kevin Eltzroth, Mellissa Spencer, Brandon VanMeter, Joshua VanMeter, and Jessie VanMeter, 14 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Rinthy Cluff of Sault St. Marie, Michigan. She is proceeded in death by one grandson, Brady Eltzroth, three brothers, Charles, Ernie, and Greg Norton, and one sister, Sharon Kennedy.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service from noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Stephen Guffin Jones

 


Stephen Guffin Jones, 82, of Wabash, passed away March 17, 2022, at Millers Merry Manor East, after a long brave battle with Parkinson's, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Wabash, Indiana on July 1, 1939, to Edward Kemp Jones and Martha Biggerstaff Jones.

Stephen was known for his love of family, learning, fishing, writing, cooking, storytelling, sense of humor, endless curiosity, and his love for nature, where he was most content. Stephen was an Ottercreek Steelheader. 

Stephen is survived by three daughters, Anne (Todd) Titus of Wabash, Indiana, Julia (Jay) Tate of North Manchester, Indiana, and Sandra Grigsby of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He leaves behind three grandchildren, whom he adored: Katherine Tate of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kyle Grigsby of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Blake Grisby of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and his brother Edward K. (Pete) Jones of Wabash, Indiana. He was proceeded in death by his wife Sandra "World's Best Mom" Jones and his parents.

Mary Ann Rish

 


Mary Ann Rish, 89, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Parkview Hospital Randallia Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born to William H. and Edna M. (Tyner) Rish on March 25, 1932, in Wabash, Indiana.

Mary worked at General Tire doing clerical work. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wabash, Indiana. Mary liked to travel and lived in Albuquerque for 7 years.

Mary is survived by two brothers, John W (Casandra) Rish of North Manchester, Indiana and Richard N. Rish of Servia, Indiana.  She was proceeded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Sebrena Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Elda Eppley

 


Elda Mae Bernita Eppley 84, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 10:44 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on January 5, 1938, to Rollo and Bernita (Ort) Ferguson.

Elda was a graduate of Montpellier High School. She married Richard Dean Eppley on March 10, 1955. He passed away on February 25, 2013. She attended LaFontaine United Methodist Church. Elda enjoyed volunteering with the church and community groups with cooking and support. She also enjoyed the warm weather and beautiful scenery in Arizona.  

Elda is survived by two sons, William (Laura) Eppley of Wabash, and Curtis (Malina) Eppley of Haymarket, Virginia, one daughter, Tona Rose Earhart of Wabash, three sisters, Belva Jean Mooner of Tuson, Arizona, Rita Maria Showers of Middleton, Wisconsin, and Cheryla Rae Breakfield of Inner Grove Heights, Minnesota, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband; Richard, two sons; Timothy and Rick Eppley, one grandson; Garth Eppley, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022, at LaFontaine United Methodist Church 2 West Kendall Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating.  Burial will follow at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at McDonald Funeral Homes, LaFontaine Chapel 104 South Main Street LaFontaine, Indiana. 46940.
