Harry Barton Pitts

Harry Barton Pitts, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 12:47 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to the late Vane and Maude (Knight) Pitts on January 26, 1933 in Salem, Indiana.
He married Janice S. Rife on December 14, 1957, she survives. Harry served and retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service to his country. Then he worked for Cohron’s Manufactured Homes in Indianapolis, Indiana and drove a truck for Burlington Trucking.  He was a member of General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn both in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also a member of American Legion in Indianapolis, Indiana and VFW Post 286 in Wabash, Indiana.
Along with his wife, Janice; he is also survived by two sons, Craig Pitts of Willow Branch, Indiana and Keith Pitts of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren, Tabatha Pitts of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jessica Pitts Johnson of Seiling, Oklahoma, Richard Pitts of Greenwood, Indiana, Barbara Pitts of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sara Pitts of Lacy, Washington, and Sheila Sue Pitts of Greenfield, Indiana; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Jane Worrell of Venice, Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, officiating the services will be Pastor Aaron Branham. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana 46992.
