L. Duane Rhamy

 

L. Duane Rhamy, 80, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 2:50 a.m. on April 9, 2024, at Wabash Parkview Hospital in Wabash, Indiana. He was born on October 27, 1943, to Everett and Isabel (Eviston) Rhamy in Huntington, Indiana.

 Duane was a graduate of Jefferson Township High school, as well as a graduate from Purdue University. After his schooling he served in the Army National Guard. He married Marsha (Kline) Rhamy on April 19, 1991. He retired from ALH as a maintenance supervisor but worked many years at International Harvester and farmed as well. In his young adulthood, Duane enjoyed drag racing at Bunker Hill Raceway. He loved working on cars and tractors. He thoroughly enjoyed competing in antique tractor pulling. He was a part of many tractor pulling clubs; Antique Tractor Pullers, Tri-State Antique Points Pullers, Northern Indiana Pullers, and Boost Mission Tractor Pulling. The "Oliver Man" had vast knowledge in Oliver Tractors. 

 Duane is survived by his wife, Marsha (Kline) Rhamy; three daughters, Techia Brewer of Marion, Indiana, Shonna Leas of Petroleum, Indiana, Mindi (Rick) Henry of Muncie, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Andrea (Dan) Schlemmer, Julie (Clint) Sluss both of Wabash, Indiana; two stepsons, Jason Kline of Huntington, Indiana, Jonathan Kline of Goshen, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Levon.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor John Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Etna Cemetery in Mt. Etna, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the funeral home.
