A. Eileen Meyer

A. Eileen Meyer, 97, of North Manchester, Indiana passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana 46962. She was born to the late George M. and Cleo Toy (Keel) Haymond on November 9, 1918 in Wabash County, Indiana.

Eileen married Everett C. Meyer on December 25, 1940, he passed away in 1961. Eileen was a school teacher for 24 years, she taught for 2 years in the North Manchester School and 22 years for Wabash City Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wabash, Indiana. Membership also include Delta Kappa Gama, Eastern Star Past Matron of Wabash, Indiana, and life memberships of National Education Association, Retired Teacher Association, and Wabash County Retired Teachers.

Eileen is survived by two sons, David Clinton Meyer (Joanne Patricia Elsner) of North Manchester, Indiana, and Alan Douglas Meyer of Huntington, Indiana; sister, Mildred M. Wycoff of Mitchellville, Maryland; granddaughter, Mrs. Eileen P. (Robert) Meyer Sklar of North Manchester, Indiana; and two great grandchildren, Emma and James Sklar both of North Manchester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a brother, George M. Haymond.

  1. I dated George Haymond, her brother, for 24 years and came to know Eileen through him. She was a very sweet lady during her life; even sending me cards on my birthday anniversaries. I loved the Haymond family very much, and while I miss George, my love, it's sad to hear of his sister's passing. I'm sure they are together again, and that's what makes it feel better.
