Sammy Cone

 

Sammy C. Cone, 69, of Urbana, Indiana passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025 at his residence. He was born to Sammy C. Cone Sr. and Lucy A. (Hall) Tudor Sundheimer on September 20, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sammy married Barbara Sue Taylor on July 14, 1973. She passed away on October 10, 2015. Sammy served in the United States Army. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He had hobbies including sharpening knives and tinkering with things, he could fix anything. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a maintenance supervisor for Lincoln before retiring. He attended church at Abundant Life Church in Wabash. 

He is survived by one son, Keith A. Cone of Wabash, Indiana; two daughters, Misty (Jeremy) Campbell of Urbana, Indiana and Samantha Cone (Stan Tharp) of Disko, Indiana; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, William W. Tudor of Urbana, Indiana; one sister, Kelly (Tim) Luzadder of Flora, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Stephanie Cone, who passed away on May 18, 2006, and one grandson, Benny C. Cone. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Tony Cicatko officiating. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.  

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
