Kathy Long

Kathy Renea (Burke) Long, 65, of Wabash, Indiana passed into eternity into the welcoming arms of her Lord Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born to Jack D. and Juda (Bowser) Burke on July 10, 1957.

Kathy was a 1976 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. She retired from GDX in Wabash, Indiana. Kathy enjoyed doing crafts, ribbons, and baskets.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Juda Burke, while rejoicing in the arms of her dearly departed father, Jack Burke. Kathy also leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer (Matt) Long-Dillon, along with her longtime companion, Greg Waller. Kathy was a doting Granny to Matt & Jennifer Dillon’s children, Jemma and Jude. She was also a caring sister to her brothers Steve (Donna) Burke and Stacy Burke. She loved Greg’s daughters Jennifer (Russell) Gaston and Amy (Josh) Hause and Jennifer’s sons RJ & Ayden as her own grandsons and Amy’s daughter Darbey as her own granddaughter. She adored the entire Burke family and longed to see them every year in Paintsville, Kentucky at the Burke Family Reunion. Kathy cherished her little dog, Ace.

Kathy left us on Mother’s Day 2023, so we grieve as a family who missed one more chance to celebrate with her physically. Yet we do not grieve in vain. As Jesus has risen, those who repent and believe shall also rise. For now, as spirits to Heaven. Someday later, as resurrected bodies like Jesus, living with Him in a restored Heaven and Earth. We praise God for Kathy’s life and trust Him in her death.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave. Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Soloman David officiating.

Graveside services following the funeral service will be private for family only.

Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at the funeral home.

We will miss her, but not forever. In lieu of flowers, the preferred memorial would be charitable donations to the Wabash Valley Dance Theater in care of McDonald Funeral Home.

McDonald Funeral Homes, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, have been trusted with Kathy Long’s final arrangements.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcdonaldfunerals.com
