Annabelle Alexander

Annabelle Alexander, 86, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2013.  She was born on April 2, 1926, in Wabash, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lawrence Orville Yost and Mary Nettie (Moore) Yost.  Annabelle was preceded in death by her beloved husbands Austin Hileman and Donald Alexander, sisters Ruby Evans of Wabash and Betty Miller of Evansville, and brother Lawrence (Larry) Yost Jr. of Wabash, Indiana.

Annabelle graduated from Wabash High School in 1944 and from the Kokomo School of Practical Nursing in 1970, where she earned a degree in Practical Nursing.  She retired after working 20 plus years as an LPN at the Wabash County Hospital, primarily in labor and delivery.  She often stated that being able to assist in the delivery of her grandchildren was the highlight of her nursing career.  Annabelle was a fifty year member of the Wabash Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a fifteen year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Pasadena, Texas.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Diana (Hileman) King and husband Dan of Pasadena, Texas, and Darrell Hileman and wife Kathy of Lake Placid, Florida; grandchildren Kevin Hileman of Elkhart, Indiana; Heather Masten of Pasadena, Texas; Kara Fulmer of Wabash, Indiana; Allison Weiss of Burlington, Massachusetts; and Chad Ewer of Friendswood, Texas; six great-grandchildren Corey, Audrey, Jordan, Paxton, Emma, and Dennis; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Annabelle will be forever remembered for her gentle kindness, warmth and good humor.
