James A. Harding “Cowboy”, 62, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 8:49 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at his daughter’s residence in Wabash, Indiana. He was born on March 31, 1962, to Gerald D. Harding and Marilyn (King) Fischer in Wabash, Indiana.
James was a Union Iron worker in the Local 808 in Orlando, Florida throughout his lifetime. In his youthful years, he operated on oil rigs in Gillette, Wyoming and did mining jobs in Nevada. James was an avid Harley rider. He loved his family and his beloved dog Boo Boo more than anything.
James is survived by his one daughter, Tosha (Matthew) Swanson of Wabash, Indiana; two brothers, Jeff (Kathy) Harding, Dennis Harding both of Wabash, Indiana; four sisters, Jennifer (Dave) Williams, Rhonda Nelson, Cindy (Michael) Conliff, Laura (Phil) Martin all of Wabash, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Hayden Martin, Zayne Swanson, and Paisly Swanson. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald Harding and Marilyn Fischer.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. The final resting place for James will be in Deadwood, South Dakota.
The family encourages friends and family to share stories and memories throughout visitation.
