Sherol K. Cochran, 71, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 1:23 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born on October 12, 1954, to Harold Williams and Marilyn Lockridge in Marion, Indiana.

Sherol was a 1973 graduate of Mississinewa High School in Gas City, Indiana. She married Dennis D. Cochran on June 5, 1976, at the United Methodist Church in LaFontaine, Indiana. Sherol received her bachelor's degree in social studies and history from Ball State University before continuing her education and receiving her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana; she retired from United Technologies in Huntington, Indiana. 

Sherol had a special interest in U.S. History. For several years she enjoyed volunteering at the Colonial Michilimackinac Archaeological Excavation in Mackinaw City, Michigan. Her favorite travel destinations were Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, where she enjoyed taking several trips over the years. Sherol loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandson, Collin, and attending his activities. 

Sherol is survived by her husband, Dennis Cochran of LaFontaine, Indiana; son, Andrew Cochran of LaFontaine, Indiana; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Berg of Noblesville, Indiana; grandson, Collin Berg of Noblesville, Indiana; father, Harold (Imogene) Williams of Marion, Indiana; sisters, Carol (John) Gamble and Deb (Al) Davis, both of Warren, Indiana; brother, Craig (Viva) Howell of Warren, Indiana; aunt, Gretchen Fry of Gas City, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn (Jim) Lockridge. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery. 

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
