David Allen Ulshafer, 69, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his residence in Wabash. He was born on August 5, 1954, to Von and Phyllis (Watts) Ulshafer in Wabash, Indiana.
David was a 1973 graduate of Southwood High School. After his schooling, he worked at Chrysler KTP plant in Kokomo for thirty-eight years and retired in 2022. He married his wife, Sheryll Shenefield on May 12, 2007. David held a membership with LaFontaine Christian Church. He loved anything outdoors which included riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, scuba diving, and salmon fishing. David enjoyed working with his hands and was extremely skilled in mechanics and carpentry. He was also known as the Mayor of Spring Street.
David is survived by his mother, Phyllis Ulshafer of LaFontaine, Indiana; his wife, Sheryll Ulshafer of Wabash, Indiana; one son Jeremy Ulshafer of Zionsville, Indiana; one daughter, Erin (Ross) Haughn of Wabash, Indiana; one stepson, Derek (Danielle) Shenefield of LaFontaine, Indiana; three brothers, Edward (Allison) Ulshafer of LaFontaine, Indiana, Kevin (Margaret) Ulshafer of Macon, Georgia, Jeff (Colleen) Ulshafer of Lagro, Indiana; one sister, Loraine Kay Ulshafer of LaFontaine, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, who is expected to arrive in July. He is preceded in death by his father, Von Ulshafer who passed away January 26, 2013, and a stepson, Cory Shenefield who passed away November 8, 2017.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Brad Wright officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the funeral home.
