Joann Hobbs, 93, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on March 29, 1931, to Roy and Mary (Crandall) Kroft in Wabash, Indiana.
Joann was a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana. She was a 1949 graduate of Noble High School. After high school she attended International College of Business in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Joann married her husband Merrill Hobbs on July 1, 1950. She also worked as a private secretary for Parker Spenny for many years. She held memberships with Wabash Christian Church as well as Tri Kappa Wabash. Joann enjoyed birds, flowers, crosswords, and playing bridge. Joann will forever be remembered as the Crossword Queen.
Joann is survived by her loving husband, Merrill Hobbs of Wabash, Indiana; one son, Terry (Tammy) Hobbs of Wabash, Indiana; three grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Howenstine of Lagro, Indiana, Mark (Julie) Hobbs of Lagro, Indiana, Rachal (Marcus) Olson of Wabash, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Howenstine, Emily Howenstine, Reid (Lyndsie) Hobbs, Lilly Hobbs, Jaxson Olson, Charlee Olson, and Axle Olson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Kroft and one brother, Dale (Donna) Kroft.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
