Scott M. Brackett

Scott M. Brackett, 47, of Wabash, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019.  He was born in Wabash, on April 24, 1971 to Danny Brackett and Debra Beeks.

Scott worked at Dalton Factory for many years.  He was affiliated with Christian Heritage Church.  Scott loved to fish, mushroom hunt, and being outdoors. 

Scott is survived by his mother Debra, of Wabash; daughters, Kennedy Brackett and Delecia Halverson, both of Wabash; brother, Mike Venosky, of Wabash; granddaughter, Harper Morrisett and close family friend, Tonya Hampton, of Wabash.  He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Brackett, who died on November 14, 2018, father, Danny; and brother Martin "David" Brackett.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Tim Prater will be the officiant.  Family and friends may call two hours prior to the funeral service starting at 9:00 a.m.

Preferred memorials are to McDonald Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Raymond L. Bland

Raymond L. Bland, 87, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.  He was born on January 19, 1932, in Wabash, to the late William H. and Leora (Dunn) Bland.

Raymond was a 1952 graduate of Linlawn High School.  After graduation, Raymond joined the United States Army and served until 1954. While in the Army, he served in the Korean War.  Raymond married Mary Ann Glover on April 26, 1980.  She passed away on February 7, 2011.  

Raymond retired from Container Corporation in 1997.  After retiring he worked as a real estate agent with Terrell Realty, retiring in 2013.  Raymond was a IU fan.  He loved playing the harmonica and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.  

Raymond is survived by his son, Raymond Bland, Jr., of Marion; daughter, Rae Ann (Jacob) Taylor, of Marion; grandchildren, Xander Taylor and Syler Taylor; and step-grandchildren; Derrick Jivery and Branden Jivery. He is preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Pastor John Cook will be the officiant.  Burial will follow immediately at the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery. 

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the funeral home.

Daniel B. Barton

Daniel B. Barton, 58, of Huntington, Indiana, passed away at 3:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born, in Wabash, on February 22, 1960, to Larry and Joan (Pogue) Barton.

Dan was a 1978 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked in skilled trades for General Motors in Roanoke, Indiana.  Dan was member of the LaFontaine Christian Church and United Automobile Workers. Dan loved fishing, hiking and mushroom hunting in the Salamonie State Forest. 

Dan is survived by his father, Larry (June) Barton of Kokomo; two sons, Matthew Barton of Bloomington, and Andrew Barton of Marion; daughter Stephanie Barton, Federal Way, Washington; sister, Lori (James) Dove of Fort Wayne; and special friend, Wanda Smith of Huntington.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Joan.  

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, IN  46940.  Mark Pogue will be officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the funeral home.

Terry D. France

Terry D. France, 67, a lifetime resident of Wabash, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre. He was born on October 29, 1951 to Jack D. and Phyllis (Betten) France.  

Terry was a graduate of Wabash High School.  He married Karen Carpenter on July 11, 1971; she passed away on September 30, 2014.  Terry retired in 2018, from the Human Resources Department, at Bulldog Battery of Wabash. He was a member of the Wabash Eagles Lodge.  Terry was an avid golfer and loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs.

Terry is survived by his mother, Phyllis; two sons, Scott (Tammy) France and Brandon (Emily) France both of Wabash; brother, Gary D. France of Wabash; sister, Sue (Tom) Brainard of Wabash and six grandchildren, Isabel France, Jonah France, Maggie France, Solomon France, Jacob France and Sophia France.  He is preceded in death by his father, Jack France and sister, Sandy Whitmer.

Calling hours for family to receive friends will be on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  A private burial will be at a later date, at Falls Cemetery in Wabash.

James W. Little

James W. "Jim" Little, 67, of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 12:22 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation in LaFontaine.  He was born on August 25, 1951 in Kentucky to Herman and Hattie Little.

Jim was a 1970 graduate of Marion High School. Jim married Gretchen Foust, who passed away in 1988.  He worked at General Motors in Marion and was a member of Parents without Partners. Jim loved watching the Indianapolis Colts and his cat, Meng and his dog, Scruffy.

Jim is survived by his, mother, Hattie Little of Marion; sons, Erik R. Little and James W. "Jimmy" Little, II, both of Marion; daughter, Christina A. Little of LaFontaine; brother, Larry Little of Marion; sisters, Barbara (David) Ordaz of Marion and Donna Miller of West Virginia; grandsons, Justin and Derek Little of Marion, and three great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his father, Herman and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, IN  46940. Tony Bye will be officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the funeral home.

Betty Ann Retherford

Betty Ann (Gurtner) Stanley Retherford, 92, passed away on January 5, 2019 at Cumberland Pointe Health Center in West Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on December 12, 1926 to Frances F. (Frank) Gurtner and Maude Jones Gurtner in Wabash, Indiana. 
Betty married Donald Mills Stanley on November 9, 1947. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers; Wendell, Truman, and Lawrence Gurtner and sister in law Ellen Stanley Stanley. Betty married John Retherford on November 19,1989, who also proceeded in death. 
Betty enjoyed singing and playing the piano at Wabash Friends Church. She was a woman of quiet faith.
Betty is survived by her children; Phillip (Tahani) Stanley of LaFontaine, Indiana, Kathy (Sid) Micek of Champaign, Illinois, Cynthia Stanley (Don Russell) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and David (Tracy) Stanley of West Lafayette, Indiana. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Rebecca Binkerd; stepdaughters; Judy Nolta, Patsy Kumasawa, Dixie VandeFlier; grandchildren; Tammy (Bret) Taylor, Brenda (Greg) Boyd, Melanie (John) Lynn, Monica Carey, Khloe (Chris) Broelmann, Mandy Snell, Margaret Stanley, Katie Stanley, Angela Stanley Russell, and several great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Friends Cemetery, in Wabash, with Pastor Lucas Binkerd officiating. Following the private graveside service, a Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held for family and friends at 3:00 p.m. with an hour of calling from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 South State Road 13, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Larry L. Enyeart

Larry Lee Enyeart, 74, of Wabash, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at his residence.  He was born on September 2, 1944, in Wabash, to the late Herbert and Garnett (Sharp) Enyeart.

Larry married Karen Meyer on October 26, 1968.  Larry served in the United States Army.  He retired from Dana Corporation in Andrews and worked as a farmer.  Larry was a member of the VFW Post 286 of Wabash and the American Legion Post 389 in Van Buren, Indiana. 

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen; two daughters, Dawn Enyeart of Ohio and Kristina (Adam) Middleton of Andrews; three grandchildren, Scott Switzer, Katie Switzer and James Middleton; two brothers, Lamoine "Bud" Enyeart of Marion and Estil Enyeart of Treaty; two sisters, Eva Mae Garrett of Marion and Shirley Barlow of Wabash.  He is preceded in death by one brother and grandson, Brandon Middleton.  

Private graveside services will be held for the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at LaFontaine IOOF cemetery, with Harold Smith officiating.
