Hardy Samons

Hardy Samons, 76, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Paul and Evie (Conn) Samons on October 14, 1938 in Martin, Kentucky.
He married Verlie Conn in 1956, she passed away March 28, 2011. Hardy served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a supervisor from Wabash Alloys in Wabash, Indiana. Hardy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy H. Samons (Amy) of Fishers, Indiana and Michael Samons (April) of Wabash, Indiana; grandchildren, Heather A. Samons of Columbus, Ohio, Amber K. Samons of Wabash, Indiana, Kathryn M. Samons of Carmel, Indiana, and Emily M. Samons of Noblesville, Indiana; brother, Jesse Samons (Deanna) of Florida; sister, Mrs. Eleonor Wells of Wabash, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Pastor Tim Prater. Burial will follow in the Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

James E. Haggerty

James E. Haggerty, 70, a lifetime resident of rural LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Saul and Helen (Spence) Haggerty on November 1, 1943 in Marion, Indiana.

James was in the last graduating class at LaFontaine High School. He married Sandra K. McFarren on November 17, 1962, she passed away October 25, 2003. He worked in machine repair for Genral Tire of Marion, Indiana, then retired from Chrysler of Kokomo, Indiana.

He is survived by two sons, Todd L. Haggerty (Belinda) of Wabash, Indiana and Matthew J. Haggerty of Mt. Etna, Indiana; three grandchildren, Deborah Haggerty of LaFontaine, Indiana, Kevin Haggerty and Kyle Haggerty both of Wabash, Indiana; great grandchild, Logan Booher of LaFontaine, Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. David (Brenda) Tomson of Urbana, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Pamela Kay Etling

Pamela Kay Etling, 61, a lifetime resident of Wabash County, Indiana went to be with her Savior at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her home. She was born to the late Ernest and Nokie (Fields) Gillespie on September 25, 1953.
Pam married Kevin Etling on January 28, 1984, he survives in Wabash, Indiana. She worked for Big R and Martin Yale both in Wabash, Indiana. Pam loved being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and just being with her family. She was a loving friend to many, who looked up to her as a mentor and second mother.
Pamela is also survived by two daughters, Melissa Hileman-Carter (Shannon) of North Manchester, Indiana and Stephanie Hileman-Bekel (Harry) of Wabash, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Levi Wright, Mackenzie Rickner (Chris), Cassidy Miller, Mike Bekel, Dani Bekel, Sam Renz, Celina Carter, Max Carter, and Cierra Carter; and a brother. She is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Gillespie and sister, Mary Rose Gillespie.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Karen Sue France

Karen Sue France, 60, a lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at her home. She was born to Lacy and Mary (Miller) Carpenter on November 13, 1953 in Wabash, Indiana. Her parents survive in Wabash, Indiana.
She was a 1972 Wabash High School graduate. Karen married Terry D. France on July 11, 1971, he survives. She was a dedicated teacher aide for the Wabash City Schools. Karen loved reading, writing, books, and poetry. She thoroughly enjoyed and had a gift for helping the kids at school. Karen especially loved her family and grandchildren.
She is also survived by Scott France (Tammy) and Brandon France (Emily) both of Wabash, Indiana; grandchildren, Isabel, Jonah, Maggie, Solomon, Jacob, and Sophia all of Wabash, Indiana; sisters, Mrs. Chris (Janice) Perkins of Iowa and Mrs. Greg (Diane) Pankop of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Carpenter.

John E. "Butch" Wilcox

John E. “Butch” Wilcox, 72, of Wabash, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born to the late John Fredrick and Helen (Widmyer) Wilcox on September 3, 1942 in Urbana, Indiana.
He graduated from Urbana High School in 1960. John married Patricia “Pat” Jean Bott on August 15, 1966, she survives. He was a truck driver and a member of Teamsters. He was avid fisherman.
John is also survived by his children, Daniel Lee Wilcox (Marian) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pamela Jean Driscoll (Daniel) and Terri Lynn Wendt both of Wabash, Nancy Anne Reynolds of Marion, Indiana and DeWayne Eugene Wilcox of Wabash, Indiana; sister, Mildred "Millie" Ann Davis of Wabash, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild and brother.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Virginia L. "Ginny" Williams

Virginia "Ginny" L. Williams, 80, of Wabash, Indiana went home to be with Jesus on September 8, 2014. She was born August 29, 1934 in Wabash, Indiana to the late Ora A. and Louise (Owen) Banks.
She married George F. Williams on April 18, 1953 in Wabash, he preceded her in death on May 31, 2004. Ginny was a faithful member of her church, Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church of Wabash, Indiana. She was a door greeter and sang in the choir. She loved to read her Bible. She worked at Honeywell for 30 years and White's Institute for 5 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy L. Richardson of Wabash, Indiana and Kay L. (Pat) Cox of Macy, Indiana; son, Kenny L. (Kathy) Williams of Lagro, Indiana; seven grandchildren which she loved, Kevin (Amanda) Richardson of Wabash, Indiana, Kenny Williams Jr. and Keith Williams both of Lagro, Indiana, Kyle (Aubrey) Williams of Sanford, North Carolina, Cody Cox of San Diego, California, Chandler (Allison) Cox of Rochester, Indiana and Carter Cox of Peru, Indiana; three great granddaughters, Kailynn Richardson, Alayna Williams, and Ella Grace Cox; three great grandsons, Kale Richardson, Parker Cox, and Blake Cox.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church, 129 Southwood Drive, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Terry Hinds officiating. Following the services she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband George at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Richard A. Griese

Richard A. Griese, 60, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late William V. and Isabel Griese on November 18, 1953 in Elwood, Indiana. He worked for U.S. Gypsum and Thermafiber both of Wabash, Indiana.
Richard is survived by a son, Clarence William Griese of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Mrs. Corey (Patricia) Schnitz and Dodie Ivey both of Wabash, Indiana, and Susan Frank of North Manchester, Indiana; three brothers, Bill Griese of Rochester, Indiana, Don Griese of Peru, Indiana, and Jerry Griese of Illinois; three sisters, Delores Harris and Marty Combs both of Wabash, Indiana, and Bonnie Bullins of Warsaw, Indiana; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Wabash Faith Baptist Church, 200 Linwood Court, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Dan Boone officiating.
