Sandra Hughes


 Sandra E. Hughes, 75, formerly of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born on May 29, 1949, to Arthur Sr. and Elizabeth Joann (Cox) Diskey in Marion, Indiana.

Sandra was a graduate of Marion High School. After high school, she then obtained an associate’s degree in criminal justice at Indiana University. Once Sandra completed her schooling she worked at the Veterans Administration Office in Marion, Indiana for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family, as well as listening to music on records and on the radio. Sandra was also an avid movie watcher, who had an extensive collection of DVDs. 

Sandra is survived by three sons, Dennis (Traci) Daugherty of LaFontaine, Indiana, Joseph (Jessica) Miller of Amarillo, Texas, Sam Daugherty of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Denise (Kevin) Daugherty-Crampton of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lorena Harding of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sarah Hughes of Huntington, Indiana; three brothers, Ned (Loxi) Diskey of Battle Ground, Indiana, Daniel Diskey of New Port Richey, Florida, Darrell Diskey of Mount Zion, Illinois; one sister, Carol Everhart of Gas City, Indiana; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Sr. and Elizabeth Diskey; one son, Matthew J. Hughes who passed away May 4, 2003; and one brother, Arthur Diskey Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the funeral home.

Ezra James Anthony Lyons

 

Ezra James Anthony Lyons, infant son of William Victor Lyons and Kristin (Costello) Metz, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Parkview Huntington Hospital in Huntington, Indiana.

He is survived by his parents, William Victor Lyons and Kristin Metz; maternal grandmother, Yvonne Costello of Wabash, Indiana; paternal grandparents, Brian (Janet) Lyons of Roann, Indiana; maternal great-grandparents, Maria and Guillermo Gonzales of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Athena Metz, Vanessa Lyons, Cherish Moser; one brother, William Moser; one uncle, Frank (Cynthia Gallagher) Costello of Whiting, Indiana; one aunt, Bethany (Adams) Deeds of Miami County, Indiana; and three cousins, Henry Deeds, Chloe Deeds, and Madison Deeds. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Costello.

Private graveside services will be at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Diana Lynn McNeeley

 

Diana Lynn McNeeley, 81, of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at her residence in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born on July 15, 1943, to Allen H. “Bud” and Charlotte M. (Murphy) Sailors in Marion, Indiana.

Diana was a 1961 graduate of LaFontaine High School. After her schooling she worked as an LPN in the Coronary Care Unit at Maron General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. She married her husband Clarence McNeeley on December 20, 1976. Diana held a membership with the Daughters American Revolution (DAR), and she was extremely proud to be a part of the organization. She enjoyed sitting outside on her swing visiting with family. Diana loved being with her family and friends, attending a good luncheon, listening to audio books and music, traveling, and finding new experiences.

Diana is survived by her loving husband, Clarence McNeeley of LaFontaine, Indiana; two daughters, Tracie (Brian Linkenhoker) Hensley of LaFontaine, Indiana, Joyce (Carl) Gibson of New Waverly, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Jason (Crystal Spencer) McNeeley, Ashley Gibson, Robert (Stephanie Walls) Gibson, Brayton (Tristan) Hensley, Logan (Reggie) Sears, Brandy (Jeff) Hamm, and Misty Fry; eleven great-grandchildren, Willow, Aiden, Logan, Paisley, Kennedy, Hadley, Raegan, Alexis, Sean, Cayden, and Rylen; one great-great-grandchild, Maylee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Charlotte Sailors; one daughter, Jane Ann Bakehorn; three sisters, Katherine Tailor, Neva Boyd, and Rebecca E. Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Emery Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the funeral home.

Sean Clayton Murray Jr.

 

Sean Clayton Murray Jr., 16, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Wabash, Indiana due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born on March 19, 2008, in Kokomo, Indiana. 

Sean attended Wabash High School as a junior. When he wasn’t in school, he spent many hours working at Kroger with his colleagues. Sean thoroughly enjoyed playing videos games in his free time. He also loved watching football and spending time with his animals. He enjoyed going out to eat and getting a stack of pancakes which was one of his favorite meals. Sean was extremely passionate when it came to his friends and family. He was hardworking and kind, but most importantly, he put all his efforts and determination into everything he did.

Sean is survived by his parents, Sean and Alicia Murray of Wabash, Indiana, Christen Wooten of Bunker Hill, Indiana; paternal grandparents, Debbie and Greg Cogland of Thomasville, Georgia, Andy Murray of Rochester, Indiana; maternal grandparents, Steve and Karen Wooten of Bunker Hill, Indiana, Mary Tchernow of Chicago, Illinois, Larry and Shelley Owen of Peru, Indiana; siblings, Madison Owen of Wabash, Indiana, Logan Faucett of Wabash, Indiana, Bryan Montgomery of Peru, Indiana, Ian Murray of Monroe, North Carolina, Ckloey Wooten of Chillicothe, Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Karen Wallace-Shaw and aunts, Tifany and Erika Murray.

James "Jim" Minor Bell III

 


James "Jim" Minor Bell III, 67, of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 3:02 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on January 11, 1957, to James Minor Bell II and Catherine (DeLong) Bell in Rushville, Indiana.

Jim attended Huntington North High School. He served in the United States Army in the Airborn Division from 1975 to 1976. He married Joyce Dice on September 24, 1977. He was a member of the Indiana Freemasons Fairmount Lodge No. 635. He enjoyed trains, magnet fishing, and working with his tractor clearing brush from his property. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce Bell of LaFontaine, Indiana; one daughter, Sheena Bell of LaFontaine, Indiana; two brothers, Richard Bell of Marion, Indiana, Edward Bell of Richmond Virginia; one sister, Catherine Hagadorn of Wyalusing, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Laura Jolliff, she passed on March 1, 2020. 

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Jim's life will be held at a later date.

Larry Joe Cochran


 Larry Joe Cochran, 82, of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on September 16, 1942, to Luther and Lorene (Edwards) Cochran in Montpellier, Indiana.

Larry was a lifetime resident of LaFontaine, Indiana. He was a 1962 graduate of LaFontaine High School. Larry held a membership with LaFontaine Methodist Church. He worked as a farmer throughout his lifetime. In his free time, he thoroughly enjoyed woodworking, carving, and attending auctions.

Larry is survived by one daughter, Amy Razor of Delaware, Ohio; three sons, Jason (Tami Wagoner) Cochran of Upland, Indiana, Joshua Cochran, Dylan Cochran both of LaFontaine, Indiana; one step-daughter, Lynn Ellis of Wabash, Indiana; three grandsons, Evan (Elly) Razor, Alec (Rachel Russ) Razor, Ethan Razor all of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Patton Razor, Lawson Razor both of Ohio; one sister, Sue (Bob) Schultz; several nieces and nephews; and Dylan’s mother, Jenny Smith of LaFontaine, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lorene Cochran; one son, Kevin “Cowboy” Cochran; one daughter, Hattie Cochran who passed away on November 4, 2024; and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the funeral home.

Delilah Eileen Rose Goforth

 

Delilah Eileen Rose Goforth, 2, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:33 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her residence from injuries sustained in a house fire in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on May 5, 2022, to Dustin M. Goforth and Natalie Brzozowski in Peru, Indiana.

Delilah was full of love and happiness. She loved to dance while listening to Jelly Roll. She also enjoyed playing ball as well as playing in the water when the weather was right. She was always the boss of the household. Delilah brought tremendous joy to her family with her playful and vibrant personality. Delilah would make her family laugh by frequently saying her common phrase, (WHAT!) 

Delilah is survived by her parents, Dustin M. Goforth and Natalie Brzozowski both of Wabash, Indiana; one brother, Bentley Goforth of Wabash, Indiana; maternal grandparent, Lisa Brzozowski of Wabash, Indiana; maternal great-grandparents, Mike and Cheryl Mertes of Plymouth, Indiana; Paternal grandparent, Jeff Goforth of Logansport, Indiana; four uncles, Austin Goforth of Fulton, Indiana, Zack (Sydney) Brzozowski of Kewana, Indiana, Josh (Victoria) Brzozowski of Peru, Indiana, Jacob (Ivy) Brzozowski of Peru, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Benjamen Brzozowski.

Alfonso Rodriguez

 


Alfonso Rodriguez, 70 of Muncie, Indiana passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at his residence in Muncie, Indiana. He was born on May 29, 1954, to Justo Rodriguez and Edubijes (Castro) Carrillo in Port Lavaca, Texas.

Alfonso was a graduate of Marion High School. He was an entrepreneur, owning his own lawn care business in Carmel, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, playing golf, and racing cars. Alfonso had a passion for restoring cars as well. 

Alfonso is survived by his companion, Paula Morgan of Muncie, Indiana; two daughters, Alma (Joshua) Dvorak of Upland, Indiana, Anita (Ryan) Rivera of Carmel, Indiana; four grandchildren,  Alana Smith, Adoracion Dvorak, Alyssa Dvorak, Austin Rivera; three great-grandchildren, Koden Smith, Anaxandra Smith, Amelia Smith; three brothers, Enrique (Kelly) Leal Jr. of Franklin, Indiana, Rosendo (Rachel) Mireles Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Fortunato (Michelle) Carrillo Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven sisters, Nasaria Weaver of Wabash, Indiana, Eduvina (Michael) Keen of Wabash, Indiana, Marina (Matt) Daniels of Wabash, Indiana, Olga (Roy) Galvan of Gas City, Indiana, Elva (Elix) Brewer of Florida, Rosa Palmer of Omaha, Nebraska, Raquel (Chris) Goff of Brownsburg, Indiana.
