Phyllis Hobson

 

Phyllis Hobson, 56, of Wabash, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born on August 21, 1967, in Wabash, Indiana, to Homer and Carol Penix. Her mother survives in Wabash, Indiana, and her father preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a member of the Wabash Alliance Church in Wabash. Phyllis was a great mom, loving and a hard worker.

Along with her mother, she is survived by four daughters, Clerisa Keirsey, Tennessee, Tabitha Rider, North Manchester, Indiana, Danyelle (Daniel) Steller, Roann, Indiana, Sierra (Ryan) Gamsby, Wabash, Indiana; three sisters, Vicki Case, Barb Miller, Linda Penix, all of Wabash, Indiana; and 13 grandchildren. Along with her father she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Penix; and one sister, Faye Penix.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave. Wabash, Indiana 46992. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Randolph

 

Patricia Ann Randolph, 79, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on September 26, 1943, to Oren and Helen (Newman) Wilson in Wabash, Indiana. 

Patricia worked at the Wabash Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Green Gable Restaurant in Wabash. She loved puzzles books, fishing, and antiques. 

Sue is survived by two sons, James A. Dickerhoff of Wabash, Indiana, Norman E. Dickerhoff of Wabash, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brittany Lee Bell, Michelle Christine Dickerhoff, Hannah Lucille Dickerhoff, Zack Lee Randolph; four great-grandchildren, Mariah Dickerhoff, Anthony Cole, Trevor Dickerhoff, Jaden Stephens; one brother, David Wilson of Wabash, Indiana; two sisters, Sharon Fisher of Azle, Texas, Tonya Zimmerman of Huntington, Indiana; one stepsister, Mary Norris of Wabash, Indiana; one aunt, Donna Copeland of Wabash, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bobby Randolph Jr., and one brother, Devon Wilson. 

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana with Rev. Steve Hudson officiating.

David W. Sollars

 

David W. Sollars, 59, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on January 28, 1964, to Norman "Tex" and Barbara (McCollister) Sollars in Wabash, Indiana. 

David was a 1982 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked for Dana Corporation in Marion, Indiana. Dave enjoyed drag racing Harley-Davidson motorcycles all over and also enjoyed his family and friends.

David is survived by his mother, Barbara Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana; one nephew, Kenny (Melissa) Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana; one great-nephew, Kolton Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim Sollars. 

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Lyndee L. Phipps

 

Lyndee L. Phipps, 57, of Marion, Indiana passed away at 12:54 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on March 2, 1966, to Albert Waltermire and Barbara (Beasley) Carnes in Seymour, Indiana. 

Lyndee married Terry Phipps on October 15, 2005. She previously worked for American Woodmark in Gas City, Indiana. Lyndee attended LaFontaine Christian Church. She loved gardening, cooking, taking care of people, taking trips, and fishing, but most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. 

Lyndee is survived by her husband, Terry Phipps of Marion, Indiana; two sons, Justin (Leandra) Golden of Eaton, Indiana, Brandon (Brittany) Golden of Seymour, Indiana; two daughters, Brittanee Golden of Marion, Indiana, Landy (Brandon) Otis of Middletown, Indiana; one bonus daughter, Heather Thompson of Marion, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Loyd (Norma) Hockersmith of North Vernon, Indiana, Alan Hulse of North Vernon, Indiana, Harold (Vickie) Hartwell of Holton, Indiana; five sisters, Sharleen (Dave) Wells of Corydon, Indiana, Tressa (Damion) McGowan of North Vernon, Indiana, Frances (Jack) Sandlin of Versailles, Indiana, Marilyn Brooks of North Vernon, Indiana and Sandra (Keith) Conrad of Elizabethtown, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Nathan Golden, one granddaughter, and three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at LaFontaine Christian Church, 202 Bruner Pike LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Brad Wright and Bill Ellis officiating.

Bradford J. White Sr.

 

Bradford "Brad" J. White Sr., 75, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away at 3:01 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1948, to Lorrin P. and Bette (Fahl) White on March 14, 1948. 

Brad graduated from Southwood High School and played football and basketball. He served in the United States Air Force as an Armed Forces Courier. He inspected the various Armed Force Courier Stations in Japan, Okinawa, and Korea for compliance with the handling of Confidential Documents. While inspecting officers and bases he accompanied flying on Military Aircraft and also preformed training on Rifle/Pistol and Grenade Ranges. Brad started and interior design business and was self-employed owning a furniture store in Kokomo then in Fort Wayne and also installed lighting and sound systems for clubs. He learned how to manage his business by working and learning from family at White's Furniture in Converse. Brad enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling, and fishing with his granddad. He also enjoyed working on machinery, appliances, cars, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. 

Brad is survived by one son, Bradford J. (Mecca) White Jr; one daughter, Ashli (Nathan) Vrooman; two stepdaughters, Cortney Conway Murphy and Colbey Warren; three grandchildren, Zachary (Kelsey) White, Kaila White, Taylor White; one great grandchild, Brooks Harrison White; and longtime friends, Sherry (Bill) Evers, Louie (Sandy) Pitts, and Greg Hack. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lisa White, and one sister, Tamara J. White.

A Celebration of Life will be private in the near future among family to honor Brad's life.

Debra L. Beeks

 

Debra L. Beeks, 71, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Wabash Parkview Hospital. She was born on April 16, 1952, to Paul Hamilton and Jackie (Bailey) Venosky in Paintsville, Kentucky. 

Debra attended Wabash High School. She worked as a CNA at Vernon Manor in Wabash for many years. Debra was a member of Christian Heritage Church in Wabash.

Debra is survived by four grandchildren, Delecia (Terry) Morrisett, Madison Venosky, Kennedy Brackett, all of Wabash, Carson Applegate of Mexico, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Hamilton of Wabash, Indiana; four nieces, Traci (Greg) Thompson of Wabash, Indiana, Sarah (Burt) Bluhm of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Abbey Hamilton and Elyse Hamilton, both of Mrytle Beach, South Caralina; one nephew, Rev. Jeff (Cindy) Lawson of St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Stan Venosky, three sons, Scott Brackett, Martin Brackett, and Michael Venosky, one grandson, Daniel Brackett, and one sister, Brenda Leese. 

Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Christian Heritage Church, 2776 River Road, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. 

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 hours prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the church.

Dorothea Sue Bilbee, 79, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 9:58 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Waters East in Wabash. She was born on January 10, 1944, to Leon Jr. and Betty (Burke) Lengel in Negaunee, Michigan. 

Sue was a 1962 graduate of Wabash High School. She married William "Bill" Bilbee on October 15, 1988. She worked for Wabash Electric in Wabash in the billing department for over 30 years before retiring. She loved the Fort Wayne Komets and named her beloved cat "Fletcher" after a Komets player. She enjoyed feeding the squirrels and watching Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she loved her family. Sue was a member of the Wabash Church of the Nazarene. 

Sue is survived by her husband, William Bilbee of Wabash, Indiana; three sons, Jeff (Kris) Figert of Wabash, Indiana, Mike Figert (Kim Rowe) of Wabash, Indiana, Stewart (Brandi) Bilbee of Gas City, Indiana; two daughters, Julie (Vince) Holley of Wabash, Indiana, Jessica (Dave) Pattison of Gas City, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Larry (Debbie) Lengel of North Manchester, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash.   

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 hours prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the funeral home.

Michael A. Mitchell

 

Michael A. Mitchell, 38, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Wabash passed away at 6:42 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at his residence. He was born to Alfred "Al" and Debra (Wohlford) Mitchell on December 22, 1984, in Wabash, Indiana.

Michael was a 2004 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked in Fort Wayne doing asphalt maintenance and construction. Michael enjoyed music and playing the drums. He was very social and always had a smile on his face. Most of all he loved his family.

Michael is survived by his parents, Alfred and Debra Mitchell of Wabash, Indiana; two daughters, Alexis Skye Mitchell and Kaedence Star Mitchell, both of Wabash; two brothers, Matthew Wohlford of San Antonio, Texas, Mason Mitchell of Wabash, Indiana; one sister, Melissa (Mario) Hiesmayr of Plainfield, Illinois.

Barbara R. Staggs


 Barbara R. Staggs, 78, of rural Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at her residence. She was born on October 1, 1944, to Tolbert and Pluma (Leslie) Roberts in Marion, Indiana. 

Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Marion High School. She married William Staggs on October 18, 1963. Barbara worked for Gen. Corp. in Marion, Indiana for 33 years before retiring. She was the most loving and forgiving person there was. Barbara loved people, her dogs, and her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She made awesome tacos and her awesome ham.

Barbara is survived by her husband, William Staggs of Wabash, Indiana; two sons, Clinton Staggs of Marion, Indiana, Clayton Staggs of Wabash, Indiana; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois (Keith) Castillo of Sun City, Arizona, Charlotte Roberts of Marion, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Rev. Tim Webb officiating.

Kathy A. Keppel

 

Kathy A. Keppel, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away at 6:56 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born to Max E. and Evelyn Maxine (Whitehead) Ringenberg on June 10, 1943, in Goshen, Indiana.

Kathy was a graduate of Nappanee High School. After high school she went to work at The School for the Deaf in Indianapolis and was a Dorm Mother. Kathy married Charlie Keppel. He passed away in 2016. Kathy was a fun and happy lady that loved arts and crafts, and also enjoyed her girlfriends and family. 

Kathy is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Scott) McCollister of Wabash, Indiana; four grandchildren, Haylie Faust, Peyton Ogan, Lilly McCollister, Brett (Briana) McCollister; two great-grandchildren, Beau McCollister and Bennett McCollister; two brothers, Steve (Jami) Ringenberg of Gerton, North Carolina, Leon (Sandy) Ringenberg of Elkhart, Indiana; one sister, Ginger Ringenberg of Elkhart, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Per Kathy's wishes there will be no services.

John O. Snyder

 

John O. Snyder, 79, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1943, to John E. and Marguerite (Engelman) Snyder in Huntington, Indiana. 

John was a 1961 graduate of Andrews High School. He was a farmer and worked as a mechanic at the Marion VA Medical Center. John was a member of the Wabash County Izaak Walton League and was an avid high school football fan of Southwood and Northfield. 

John is survived by Gaya (Nelson) Snyder; two sons, John "Mitch" (Michelle) Snyder of Wabash, Indiana, Michael (Tiffany) Snyder of LaFontaine, Indiana; two daughters, Heather Maxwell of Kouts, Indiana, Leslie Snyder of Lakeside Park, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Jacob Snyder, Benjamin Snyder, Lauren Marguerite Maxwell, Samuel Maxwell, Brady Swain, Gracey Snyder, Charley Snyder, Mallory Snyder; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Woody. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Andrew Maxwell; two brothers, Bill and Charlie Snyder; two sisters, Wilma Dean Hacker and Barbara Boone. 

Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
