Britt D. Gardner

Britt D. Gardner, of Middle Point, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, at his residence.  He was born in Wabash, on May 12, 1954, to Robert L. and Lutricia (Blockson) Gardner.

Britt attended Saint Bernard Catholic School and was a 1972 graduate of Southwood High School.  He served in the United States Army.  After serving in the Army, he worked as a truck driver. 

Britt is survived by his mother, Lutricia, of Wabash; brothers, Robert Gardner, Jr., of Wabash and Joseph (Diane) Gardner, of Sherrard, Illinois; sisters, Dianna (Randy) Auxier, of Sparta, Missouri, Arletha (James) Binion, of Temple, Texas and Mary (Larry) Tate, of Hollister, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.  

Private services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Father Levi Nkwocha officiating. Burial will follow at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Somerset.

Harold G. Bowman

Harold G. Bowman, 77, of LaFontaine, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019.  Harold was born on April 17, 1942, in Wabash County, to the late Clarence and Helen (Leach) Bowman.

Harold was a 1960 graduate of LaFontaine High School and he attended Porter College. After college, he served in United States Army as part of the 164th MP Division. Harold was stationed in Germany from 1966 to 1968.  Harold retired from Superior Essex in Fort Wayne and in 1996, he started working for Applebee's and was currently employed at the Marion, Indiana location. He was a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Honeywell Center.

Harold loved his grandchildren, his AA family and his church family.  Harold just loved being around people, sharing stories and laughing with friends and family.

Harold is survived by daughter, Tracie (Brian Linkenhoker) Hensley, of LaFontaine; one brother, Jerry (Diane) Bowman, of LaFontaine; two grandchildren, Brayton (Tristan) Hensley and Logan (Reggie) Sears; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Kennedy; and sister-in-law, Margaret Bowman, of South Carolina.  He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, at McDonald Funeral Homes, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, IN  46940, with Pastor Ted Batson officiating.  Burial will follow at the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery. 

Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the funeral home.

Anna June Long

Anna June Long, 93, of Wabash, surrounded by family and friends, passed away at 3:33 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at her residence. 

Anna was born on June 1, 1926, in Miami County, to the late Willard and Mary (Weller) Draper.  She married Neil H. Long on January 16, 1944; he passed away on March 28, 2014.  Anna owned and operated Country Ceramics.  She also managed dress shops in downtown Wabash for many years and knitted hats with her friends to donate to World Vision.  

Anna is survived by two sons, Walter N. Long, and Larry (Renee) Long, both of Wabash; six grandchildren, Jason (Helen) Long, Joshua (Megan) Long, Matthew Long, Jennifer (Matthew) Long-Dillon, Dev (Kimberly) Wintrode and Larry (Mary) Long, Jr.; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Somerset.  Joe Ballone will be the officiant.

Preferred memorials are to Wabash Parkview Hospice.

Diane Parsons

Diane F. Parsons, 64, of Wabash, passed away at 8:20 a.m., at her residence, on Monday, September 2, 2019.  She was born on June 2, 1955. 

Diane worked as a homemaker and housekeeper at Wabash County Hospital and Caring Hands in Peru.

Diane is survived by three sons, Billy Parsons, of Peru, Travis Torres, of Westfield and Mark Snyder, of Florida; two daughters, Amber Parsons and Belinda Light, both of Wabash; two sisters, Nancy Snavely, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Debbie Brackett, of Wabash; and six grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother. 

Per Diane's request, there will be no services.  Arrangements have been entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Edith I. McMillan

Edith I. McMillan, 92, of Wabash, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Rolling Meadow Health and Rehabilitation in LaFontaine.  She was born on January 27, 1927, in Huntington County, Indiana, to the late Mason and Ora (Bowler) Keiffer.  Edith married Warren T. McMillan on December 20, 1946.

Edith was the 1945 valedictorian of her graduating class at Banquo High School.  After high school, she attended Fort Wayne International Business College for two years.  Edith was a member of the Banquo Christian Church, the VFW Wabash Post 286 Auxiliary and the LaFontaine Eastern Star 301. 

Edith is survived by one son, Albert McMillan, of Wabash; four daughters, Crystal (Ronald Hartley) Coons, of Hartford City, Evelyn Roberts, of Fort Wayne and Ellen (Kevin) Claytor, of Lincolnville; one sister, Deloris Zuber, of Virginia; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, two daughters, one son, one stepdaughter, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion. 

Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
