Mary E. Leland

Mary E. Leland, 84, of Wabash, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at her residence.  She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on January 5, 1935, to the late Ralph C. Metzger and Ethel (Hendricks) Kerr.

Mary graduated from Lagro High School.  She married James McNoldy in 1981; he passed away in 1995.  She then married Wendell Leland in 2004.

Mary was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church.  She owned the Blue Rabbit Antique Store in Wabash. Mary enjoyed antiquing, loved to travel and cooking for friends and family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Wendell; two sons, John (Susie) Martin, of Roann, and Jeff (Michelle) Martin, of Kasilof, Alaska; two grandchildren, Todd (Krys) Martin, and Greg (Rebecca) Martin and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis and one sister, Bessie.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Pastor Tyler Leland will be the officiant.  Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery, Wabash.

Calling hours for friends and family will be two hours prior to the funeral services, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Preferred memorials are to Wabash Parkview Hospice.

Wilma J. Hurt

Wilma J. Hurt, 89, a lifetime resident of Wabash, passed away at 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Wellbrooke of Wabash.  

Wilma was born, in Wabash, on November 1, 1929, to the late William & Mary (Clupper) Ogan.  She married Deward Hurt on March 25, 1955.  He passed away on April 8, 2012.

Wilma worked as a homemaker.  She was a lifetime member of Treaty Church of Christ and former member of Tri-Township Home Economics Club.

Wilma is survived by her cousins, Colleen Campbell, Vivian Proffitt, and Louise Friermood, all of Wabash.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Officiating the services will Pastor Mark Wisniewski.  Burial will follow at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset, Indiana.  

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to services starting at 1:00 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to the North Haiti Christian Mission.

Tim Sailors

Tim J. Sailors, 64, a lifetime resident of Wabash, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at his residence.  He was born, in Wabash, on December 19, 1954, to the late Donald B. and Augusta Sailors.

Tim graduated from Wabash High School and worked at CMI, Wabash Castings, Inc. and Wabash Alloys.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 15, Wabash and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #549, Wabash.

Tim is survived by his two sons, Tim (Sara) Sailors, Jr, of Carmel, and Jason (Kerri) Sailors, of Wabash; brother, Donald (Debbie) Sailors, of Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, Donna Thompson, of Elkhart, and Violetta (Curtis) Catt, of Wabash; eight grandchildren, Zach Sailors, of Noblesville, Grant (Kaleigh) Sailors, of Fort Wayne, Hayley Bland, of Wabash, Joey Bland, of Wabash, Evan Sailors, of Carmel, Jillian Sailors, of Wabash, Miles Sailors, of Carmel and Jake Sailors, of Wabash.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sherry L. Shrader and Cheryl Sue Strickler.  

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Pastor Tim Prater will be the officiant.  Burial will follow at Wabash Friends Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are directed to McDonald Funeral Home for the family to offset funeral expenses.

Tanner M. Correll

Tanner Michael Correll, 25, of Huntington, Indiana, passed away at 12:57 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019, at his residence.  He was born on May 16, 1994, in Indianapolis, to Jeff Correll and Megan (Kosteniuk) Wales.

The Rebellion lost a great Jedi.  Tanner's entire life was difficult due to health issues.  Through the tremendous support of close friends and family, Tanner graduated from Wabash High School in 2013 and attended Ivy Tech College for one year. Tanner had a passion for rap music and would enjoy entertaining friends and family with his talent.  "May The Force Be With You"

Tanner was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in North Manchester and attended Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church in Wabash.  

Tanner is survived by his father, Jeff (Regina) Correll, of Huntington; mother, Megan Wales, of Indianapolis; maternal grandmother, Charlene Kosteniuk, of Deland, Florida; Paternal grandparents, Dennis and Anna Correll, of Wabash; great-grandmother, Elsie Knight, of Wabash; brother, Justin Correll, of Peru; sisters, Dyllon and Daniella Wales, of Indianapolis; step-brother, Kody Brock, of Huntington and step-sister, Austyn Brock, of Huntington.  

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Congregational Christian Church, 309 W. Walnut Street, North Manchester, Indiana, with J.P. Freeman officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. 

Preferred memorials are to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Riley Hospital, Indianapolis, IN

Janet R. Schmidt

Janet R. Schmidt, 75, of Wabash, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019.  She was born in Buckingham, Florida on March 5, 1944, to the late John H. and Mary Ann (Biggs) Craig.

Janet married Enno Schmidt on November 19, 1961.  She worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wabash.  

Janet is survived by her husband, Enno, of Wabash; one son, Bradly W. Schmidt, of Wabash; one daughter, Becky Bolinger, of Kokomo, one sister, Sheryl Craig, of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one sister. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 South Wabash Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Dr. Kent Young officiating.  Burial will follow at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Barbara Ann Ansel

Barbara A. Ansel, 78, of Wabash, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Vernon Manor Health and Rehabilitation.  She was born on June 24, 1940, in Wabash, to Cecil Clupper and Alice C. Ault Morris. 

Barbara was a 1959 Wabash High School graduate. She was married to Junior Ansel in 1979 and she worked as a homemaker. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Junior, of Wabash; two daughters, Brenda (Rick) Collins Tyson, of Wabash and Teresa (Donald) Collins Goodwin, of Texas City, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her dog, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Clupper Music.

Per the family's request, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
