Austin James "AJ" Dale


Austin James "AJ" Dale, 25, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018.  He was born on June 24, 1992 in Marion, Indiana to Todd and Angela (Eltzroth) Dale of LaFontaine, Indiana.

AJ was a 2012 graduate from Southwood High School and worked as a Miami County Correctional Officer. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Treaty. AJ loved fast cars, motorcycles, fishing and sports.

AJ is survived by his loving parents; paternal grandfather, Donald L. Dale of Marion, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Bonnie A. Lawson of LaFontaine, Indiana; sisters, Addison Dale of Greenwood, Indiana and Amber Dale of Marion, Indiana; nephew, Carson; niece, Caelyn; and girlfriend Ashley Ramsey. He is preceded in death by one sister, Aubrey Dale.  

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Ryan Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.  Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Church of Christ at Treaty, SHINE program, 6793 S. 50 E. Wabash, IN  46992.

Jeffery A. York

Jeffery A. York, 47, formerly of Roann passed away at 2:09 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Summerfield Healthcare Center in Cloverdale, Indiana.  He was born in Wabash to the late David and Kathy (Bowman) York on April 8, 1971.  

Jeff worked at PTI Railroad Transportation.  He was an avid Notre Dame and Pittsburg Steelers Fan.  He loved to fish and being with his family.   

Jeff is survived by companion, Carol Price-York; two daughters, Faith (Rick) Ketcham, Indianapolis, Indiana, Jessica (Ryan) Lawrence, Elkhart, Indiana; brother, Michael York, South Bend, Indiana; sisters, Stephanie (Todd) Hersman, Niles, Michigan, Kimberly (Chris) Stevens, South Bend, Indiana and Tracy (Jeff) Clark, Elkhart, Indiana and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother, Anthony York.  

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at  McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Wayne Balmer officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Roann Community Cemetery, Roann, Indiana.  Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Anita "Jean" McNeal

Anita "Jean" McNeal walked through the pearly gates of paradise to be with Jesus after an extended illness.  We rejoice in her peace and we will miss her dearly.

Jean was born on May 28, 1925 in Delaware County, Indiana to the late Clyde Leroy and Della (Hoover) Shatto.

Jean married Walter L King, Jr. in 1945.  He preceded her in death in 1988.  She married Eugene McNeal in 1991.  He preceded her in death in 1999.  She is survived by current husband, Howard Dittemer.
 
Jean was a homemaker and member of Healing Heart Church.  Jean loved her children and grandchildren very much.  She also enjoyed wintering in Florida with Howard.
Jean is also survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Michael) King, Fairmount; sons, William L. King, Inverness Florida and Walter L. King, III, Warsaw, Indiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her step-daughters, Catherine Marks and Annabelle King; brother, Robert Shatto and great-grandson, Alex Hostetler. 

Gravesides services will be Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Delmar Fenwick officiating.  Funeral services have been entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.

Sarah A. McMillen

Sarah Ann McMillen, 69, of Peru, Indiana, passed away at 6:22 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at IU Health University Hospital.  She was born in Marion, Indiana on January 29, 1949 to the late George and Georgeanna (Mark) Weaver.   

Sarah was a 1967 graduate of Oak Hill School.  She retired from Dexter Axle in North Manchester.  

Sarah is survived by one son, Scott (Tammy) McCollister, Wabash; two daughters, Dawn (Darryll) Long, Peru, Indiana, Tonie (Brad) Niccum, McCordsville, Indiana; one brother, George (Jayne) Weaver, Marion; eight grandchildren, Brittany Niccum, Blake (Pam) Niccum, Logan Niccum, Andy (Tanarae) Pegg, Alex Pegg, Lilly McCollister, Brett (Brianna) McCollister and Ben Koch; five step-grandchildren, Darryll Long, Brandon Long, Kylee Long, Haylie Faust and Peyton Ogan and four great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by daughter, Jonie Koch and daughter-in-law, Cara McCollister. 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Burial will follow immediately at the Converse Cemetery, Converse, Indiana.  Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

James A. Snyder

James A. Snyder, 58, of Urbana, Indiana, passed away at 4:06 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his residence.   He was born in Monticello, Indiana on December 10, 1959 to Jack R. Snyder of Peru, Indiana and Joan V. (Neilson) Snyder of Urbana, Indiana. 
James married Midori Miyagi in 2010.  He worked at OJI InterTech in North Manchester.   
Along with his wife and parents, James is survived by one step-son, William Christopher Sherrill; one step-daughter, Jennifer Ann Sherrill; one brother Rodney (Sally) Snyder, Idaho; sister Jacqueline (Wayne) Meek, Urbana; nieces and nephews, Kurtis Snyder and Joel Snyder both of  Florida; Michelle Gautheir and Nicole Brinley, both of Michigan; Amber Cannon, Idaho; Adam Snyder, Tennessee; Adrena Meek and Damon Meek, both of Urbana. He is preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Snyder.

Russell Rowe

Russell Rowe, 80, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation, LaFontaine, Indiana. He was born in Sycamore, Kentucky on January 25, 1938 to the late John and Manila Rowe.

Russell married Mary Ridenour on November 18, 1961; she survives.  He retired from General Motors where he worked as an assembler. 

Along with his wife, Russell is survived by four sons, Jim (Janet) McWhirt, Sweetser, Indiana; John (Ramona) Rowe, Peru, Indiana; Jeff (Clarrissia) Rowe, Huntington, Indiana and Jerry Rowe, Marion, Indiana; three daughters, Marsha (Gary) Kratzer, LaFontaine, Indiana; Kathy (Randy) Smith, Marion, Indiana and Margaret (Steve) Magnuson, Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother Reuben (Brenda) Rowe, Wabash, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. 

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Burial will follow immediately at the Friend's Cemetery, Wabash.  Visitation will be on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eunice M. Janiszyn

Eunice Mary Janiszyn, 77, of Wabash, passed away at her daughter's house on April 12, 2018 at 6:00 a.m.  She was born to Jack and Evelyn Hale on February 2, 1941.  
She is survived by her sister Dorthy Newcomber; brother, Ron Hale; children, Deb Howard, Greg(Nancy) Janiszyn and Sherry Brainard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Wyatt; son, Stephan Janiszyn and daughter, Diana Rebholtz.
Eunice attended Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church.  She also enjoyed playing bingo.
There will be no services.  Final resting place will be in the Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.  Arrangements have been entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Guadalupe Ryder

Guadalupe Ryder, 67, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 1:16 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born on May 27, 1950 in Edinburg, Texas to the late Justo Rodriguez and Edubiges (Castro) Carrillo.

Guadalupe married Timothy Ryder on June 16, 1982; he survives.  She retired from Cornerstone in Marion, Indiana. She also worked at Marion High School Cafeteria, Majestic in Huntington, Indiana and Foster Forbes in Marion.  

Along with her husband, she is survived by one son, Christopher Ryder; eight sisters, Nasaria Weaver, Wabash;  Eduvina (Michael) Keen, Wabash; Marina (Matt) Daniels, Wabash; Olga (Roy) Galvan, Gas City; Elva (Elix) Brewer, Melissa Texas; Rosa Palmer, Omaha, Nebraska; Raquel (Chris) Goff, LaFontaine; four brothers, Alfonso (Paula Morgan) Rodriguez, Noblesville, Indiana; Enrique (Kelly) Leal, Jr, Ninevah, Indiana; Rosendo (Rachel) Mireles, Jr., Omaha, Nebraska; and Fortunato (Michelle) Carrillo, Jr., Wabash and one grandchild, Madison Ryder. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Tim Prater officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Larry Joe Zellers


Larry Joe Zellers of LaFontaine, Indiana died on April 8, 2018 at Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital.  He was born on October 25, 1936 in Kewanna, Indiana to the Arnold and Ione (Reed) Zellers.  Larry married Janice L. Wagoner on January 20, 1956 in Rochester, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, GeNelle Smoker, and a grandson, Christopher Zellers.
His survived by his wife, Janice, four children, Steve (Mary) Zellers, Lagro, Indiana; Daniel (Donna) Zellers, Rochester, Indiana; Kandy Vicini, Indianapolis, Indiana; Rodney (Becky) Zellers, Wabash.  Seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. 
Larry was retired from General Motors (Fisher Body) after 32 years.  He was a member of Lincolnville United Methodist Church, LaFontaine Masonic Lodge #295, where he was past Grand Master. He was a proud UAW member.  Larry was an avid Cubs fan and fisherman.  He loved to travel and visited 48 of the 50 states.  He and Janice spent their winters in Texas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Melissa Rice officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials can be donated to the Wabash Cancer Society or the Encouraging Truth Ministries Church in lieu of flowers.

Mary L. Bright


Mary L. Bright, 97, formerly of LaFontaine, Indiana, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Miller's Merry Manor, East.  She was born in Wabash County on April 3, 1921 to the late Herman and Helen (Johnson) Whitesel. 

Mary was a 1939 graduate of Somerset High School. She married Loren Alan Bright on March 15, 1942; he passed away August 2004.  She worked as a homemaker and on the family farm.  Mary attended the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Somerset and was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She played piano for the church for 55 years.  She was also a member of the Kessler Corner Ladies Aid and of the Hoosier Home Economics Club.  

Mary is survived by one son, David A. (Judy) Bright, Wabash; one daughter, Janet (Gerald) Miller, LaFontaine; eight grandchildren, Greg (Jessica) Miller, Brian (Jo) Miller, Jason (Jenn Wyant-Young) Miller, Lisa (Mark) Klingenberger, Scott (Cathy) Bright, Erica (Kevin) Briggs, Tracy (Stephan) Watson and Andy (Fran) Ball; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one brother.  

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Dr. Ted Batsom officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wabash. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the funeral home.  

Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society.

James E. Cunningham, Sr.

James E. Cunningham, Sr., 61 of LaFontaine, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born in Marion, Indiana on March 7, 1957 to Marlin and Agnes Cunningham.  

James married Debbie Poe on March 10, 1979; she survives.  He worked as an Iron Worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 147 in Fort Wayne.  He was a member of the Banquo Christian Church and was Captain of the LaFontaine Pool League for one year.  

Along with his wife, James is survived by one son, James E. (Chasity) Cunningham, Jr., LaFontaine; one daughter, Julia (Anthony) Plasterer, Huntington, Indiana; one sister, Barbara Stodgel, Jalapa, Indiana; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his father, one brother and one grandson, Andrew Welty.  

Funeral services will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Mike Pieart officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
