Hester "Arlene" Robinson

Hester "Arlene" Robinson, 86, of Wabash, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Miller's Merry Manor - East, Wabash.  She was born on December 13, 1931 in Wabash to the late Arthur and Ida (Davis) Conliff.  

Arlene worked as a homemaker and was a member of Christian Heritage Church, Wabash.

Arlene is survived by four daughters, Christine (Jim) Reeves, Nashville, Tennessee, Deborah (Danny) Ford, Wabash, Yvonne (Mike) Shepherd, Silver Lake and Dana Fischer, Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Esther (Ronnie) France, Converse, Joyce Ann Cooper, Fairmount and Doris (Tom) Dickover, Greentown; one brother, Phillip Conliff, Georgia; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Sellers, three brothers and two sisters. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Tim Prater officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rudolph M. Florek

Rudolph M. Florek, 86, of LaFontaine, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Marion General Hospital.  He was born on December 13, 1931 to the late Theodore and Dorothy (Prather) Florek in Kokomo, Indiana.  

Rudolph married Barbara Jones on May 15, 1954.  He served in the United States Marine Corps. Rudolph worked at Diehl Machine in Wabash and retired from General Motors in Marion, Indiana. He was member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and United Auto Workers. Rudolph loved hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family. 

Rudolph is survived by his wife Barbara; two sons, Max Florek and Dennis Florek, both of LaFontaine; two daughters, Theresa (Jerry) Lashure, LaFontaine and Pamela (Mark) Clindaniel, Kentucky; two sisters, Mary Anna (Phillip) Marquell, and Diane (Richard) Pierce, both of St. Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by one son, James Florek and three brothers, Martin, Albert and Wayne Florek.   

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Wabash, Indiana with Father Sextus Don officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.  Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.

Colene Ruth Pilgrim

Colene Ruth Pilgrim, 87, formerly of Wabash, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Chapman Place in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was born in Marion, Indiana on July 4, 1930 to the late Hillary & Grace (Lewark) Lostutter.

Colene married John R. "Jack" Pilgrim on December 25, 1948; he died on December 1, 2005.  She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Wabash. Colene enjoyed fishing, painting and 4th of July family gatherings, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family.  

Colene is survived by son, Stephen (Ruthann) Pilgrim, Wabash; daughter, Cathy (Kenneth) Barnett, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Lisa (Aaron) Laskowski, Edwardsburg, Michigan, Emily (Jeremy) Boardman, Somerset, Nicholas (Krissy) Barnett, New Haven; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey Boardman, Colleen Boardman, Ella Laskowski, Evan Laskowski, Rylee Barnett, Cohen Barnett and Piper Barnett .  She is preceded in death by two brothers.  

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.  Burial will follow immediately at Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset.  Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home.  

Preferred memorials are to the Parkview Hospice, Fort Wayne or Wabash.

Modelle Nance

Modelle Nance, 67, of Wabash, passed away at 7:24 a.m. on March 2, 2018 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on December 1, 1950 to the late Homer and Silvinia (Gillispie) Penix.

Modelle married Thomas R. Nance in 1993.  She worked at Peabody Seed and United Technologies in North Manchester.  

Modelle is survived by her husband, Thomas; son, John (Amy) Yoakum, Wabash; daughter, Denise (Lewis) Barr, Midland, Texas; two grandchildren, Bailey and Rylee Yoakum, Wabash and sister Alberta Penix, Wabash.  She is preceded in death by one sister.  

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2108 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash with Pastor Brandon Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carol J. Turley

Carol J. Turley, 81, of Wabash, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation, LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born in Wabash on March 27, 1936 to the late Melvin and Dorothy (Beekman) Snowberger.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Robert Turley on April 24, 1954.  She worked for Kmart for 22 years and retired from Sears & Roebuck.  
Carol is survived by her husband Robert; three sons, Michael Turley, Wabash, Robert (Susie) Turley, California and Jeffrey (Diane) Turley, Richmond, Virginia; four daughters, Kim (Charles) Whitton, LaFontaine, Teri (Tony) Moon, Richmond, Virginia, Debra Turley, Indianapolis and Lori (Eric) Paul, Laramie, Wyoming; Sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2108 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Anne V. Driscoll



Anne V. Driscoll, 98, Urbana, IN
She was born Anne Veronica Tworek on February 23, 1920 in Columbus (Platte County), Nebraska to Frank and Barbara Tworek. She passed away at her home, Wednesday, February 28, 2018, surrounded by family.
Anne attended St. Staislaus Catholic Grade School, graduated from Duncan High School, and attended St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Lincoln, Nebraska.
As a newly registered nurse, Anne, immediately answered her call to serve in WWII and traveled by train to San Jose, California where she cared for wounded veterans (U.S. Army Nurse Corp).
Following WWII, Anne attended University of Oregon Medical School, Portland, Oregon earning her post-graduate degree in Public Health.
She met Eugene Driscoll in California after he finished his WWII service. Six months later, November 3, 1949, they married. Together they moved back to Eugene’s childhood home and began farming.
Anne’s passion for Lagro’s Historic St. Patrick’s Catholic Church led to the Church being listing on the National Register of Historic Buildings. Anne’s other memberships included: Ladies Night Out, Friends of St. Patrick’s, American Legion Post (Lagro), Farm Bureau, St. Bellarnine (North Manchester), St. Patrick’s (Lagro).
Surviving are her sons, Matthew (Angie) Driscoll and Frank (Beth) Driscoll, both of Urbana; her daughters, Mollie (Frank) Marsh, Mountain Home, Idaho and Eugenia (Robert) Cicero, Florence, Kentucky.; 11 grandchildren along with spouses, Adam Marsh, Lucas (Allyson) Marsh, Capri (Shaun) Brixey, Kurtis (Alma) Cicero, Bridget Driscoll, Kaitlin (Clint) Plake, Shannah Driscoll, Ryan Driscoll, Sarah Driscoll, Anna Driscoll, Daniel Driscoll; and four great-grandchildren: Mason Brixey, Reed Brixey, Hendrick Cicero, Oakleigh Marsh. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, five brothers and four sisters. One sister, Theresa Koziol, resides in Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Lagro with Father Andrew Curry officiating. Graveside interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lagro, Indiana. Calling hours will be Monday, March 5, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Francis Lucille Stewart

Frances Lucille Stewart, our beloved 95 year-old mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, to be with her beloved Lord, at home, surrounded by her children, on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Frances was the second to the oldest of a family of eleven children. She married David Stewart in 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2011.
She is survived by her oldest brother, Don Miller, who is 99 years old; by her four children, Brenda (Phil) Miller, Cheryl Teague, both of Urbana, Nancy (Tim) Eviston, Wabash; David (Zenda) Stewart, Newark Ohio; five grandchildren, Angela Ogino, Urbana, Kim (Shawn) Hayslett, Lagro, Troy Teague, Lagro, Penny Drumm and Wendy Dolloff, Newark, Ohio; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was proceeded in death by her husband, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, five sisters and four brothers.
Her deepest love was her family and the Lagro United Methodist Church, of which she is the oldest church member, and her Eastern Star family. She loved doing for others and will always be remembered for her precious "Thank you" cards as she was so thankful for everything her family and friends did for her. Frances was a tough gal as she continued to live alone on the family farm in Lagro and then moved into her current home in Wabash one year ago, continuing to live alone until her illness on January 30, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lagro United Methodist Church, 1100 Main St, Lagro, Indiana 46941, with Pastor Rick Borgman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the start of service at the church, with an Eastern Star Service at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, it was Frances' wish to donate to the Lagro United Methodist Church.
