Glenda L. Cox



Glenda L. Cox, 74, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Parkview Hospital Dupont, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was born in Wabash on April 17, 1943 to the late Glenn and Lucille (Vickery) Brunn.

Glenda retired from Wabash County Hospital and she was a member of the Wabash Church of the Nazarene. She loved spending time with her family.

Glenda is survived by sons, Bryan (Karen) Cox, Wayne (Sherry) Cox and Robert Cox, all of Wabash; grandchildren, Codi Cox and Jessi Cox both of Wabash and Tyler Cox, Indianapolis, Indiana; brother, John (Marilyn) Brunn, Wabash; and sister, Vicki (Arlyn) Woodcox, Butler, Indiana.  She is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating.  Friends may call three hours prior to the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to ARC of Wabash, 595 S Miami St, Wabash, IN 46992.

Bessie Mae "Beck" Behny



Bessie Mae (Beck) Powell Behny joined her heavenly family on November 19, 2017.  The spunky, feisty diminutive  wife, mother, grandma and great mimi was born to Mae and Orange Powell in Lagro Township on June 16, 1929. She was the last living member of twelve children.   She married Harold Behny on August 2, 1947 and they were wed fifty-six years. Harold preceded her in death in October 2003.

Beck was an avid horse woman in her younger days, training and showing quarter horses as a hobby. She was an excellent seamstress, terrific cook, had a green thumb with plants and enjoyed planting flowers in any available piece of earth. She was  a long-time member of Dora Christian Church.

Beck was survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Tom) Wagoner and Cynthia (Tim) Eslava, as do four  grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney) Wagoner of Wabash, , Margaret (January Simpson) Clifton,  Ft Wayne, Mariah (Anna) Clifton-Pierle of Plainfield and  Kitty (Christopher) Bishop of Noblesville. Six great-children , Gabrielle and Izabielle  Wagoner, Jackson and Quentin Pierle, and Alison and Ada Bishop, and special friend, Arden Heagy who will forever remember her chocolate chip cookies, sugar cream pies, noodles and handmade American Girl doll outfits.  
   
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 24 at 2:30 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Minister Mark Wismiewski officiating.  Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory, Huntington, Indiana with all of her grandchildren serving as pall bearers.

Friends may call two hours prior to service starting at 12:30 p.m.

Designated memorials are to Dora Christian Church Ladies Aid.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Delores A. Harris

Delores A. Harris, 80, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 3:40 a.m at Miller's Merry Manor, North, Wabash.  She was born April 19, 1937 in Anderson, Indiana to the late William and Isabel Griese.

Delores married Jack R. Harris on November 14, 1961; he passed away on March 5, 2013.  She worked at HIZ Inc. in Wabash and was a long time member of the North Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by sons, Jack C. (Thania Colgrove) Harris, Warsaw, Cecil W. Harris, North Manchester; daughter Malinda A. (Cris) Mattern, Wabash;  Sisters, Martha Combs, Wabash and Bonnie Bullins, Warsaw; Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Delores is preceded in death by daughters, Julie Harris, Angela Oaks and daughter-in-law, Jessica Harris; nine brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services are Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Joseph Kelley and Pastor Tim Witte officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Lawns Cemetery.

Nevin F. Hettmansperger

Nevin F. Hettmansperger, 76, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord and his wife, Sandra on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10:45 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, East in Wabash.  He was born in Wabash on August 22, 1941 to the late Benjamin & Naida Hettmansperger.

Nevin was a 1959 graduate of Wabash High School and served in the United States Navy. Nevin married Sandra Jefferson on February 16, 1964; she passed away on December 26, 2008.  He was a member of the Wabash Alliance Church. He retired from PSI Duke Energy and worked part-time at Wal-Mart. Nevin also worked at Wabash Probation supervising community service and he and Sandy were foster parents.

He is survived by his son, Mike Hettmansperger of Roann; two daughters, Kim (David) Pegg and Emily Scaggs, both of Wabash; three grandchildren, Gabrielle (Zach) Wright of Peru, Jacob (Kristen) Pegg of Wabash, and Charyn Hettmansperger of Roann; four great-grandchildren, Hudson and Hartlee Wright, Carter and Reese Pegg; brother, Neil (Paulette)  Hettmansperger, Kokomo; two sisters, Janice Hettmansperger, Wabash and Sue (Jim) Bakehorn, Fort Wayne.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Randy Myers officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, Indiana.

Charles Harrell

Charles E. Harrell, 78, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 10:26 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Lagro, Indiana to the late Herman and Mary (Miller) Harrell on March 24, 1939.

Charles married Chattie Hale on November 21, 1971; she survives.  He retired from General Tire in Wabash and attended the Wabash Apostolic Church.

Along with his wife, he is survived by son, Danny Joe Harrell, LaFontaine, Indiana; Step-sons, Jimmie (Pauline) Starr, Ray (Stella) Starr and Garry (Tina) Starr all of Wabash; Step-daughters, Linda (Arthur) Hughes, Wabash and Fay Starr, North Manchester, Indiana; Seventeen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana  46992 with Pastor Jeremy Lang officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Etna Cemetery, Mt. Etna, Indiana.

Imogene Barton

Imogene P. Barton, 86, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her home.  She was born on December 20, 1930 in Lagro Township, Indiana to the late Estel and Jennie (Cross) Kulb.

Imogene married Gene H. Barton on October 2, 1949; he passed away on February 7, 2002. She was self-employed and retired. Imogene was actively involved working with senior citizens and attended the Winchester Senior Center; she even started her own euchre club in 2014.  She attended the Christ United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lincolnville United Methodist Church.  Imogene was a friend to everyone and was always there to help anyone in need and loved Jesus.

Imogene is survived by sons, Dan (Charlene) Barton, Lagro, Indiana, Douglas (Donna) Barton, LaFontaine, Indiana and James (Cheryl) Barton, Lincolnville, Indiana; Nine grandchildren and Twenty-three great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Reverend Robert Barton officiating. Calling hours will be from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery, Wabash, IN.

Cory David Shenefield



Cory David Shenefield, 32, of Wabash, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 10:09 p.m. at the Parkview Wabash Hospital.  He was born on January 19, 1985 in Wabash to David (Gloria) Shenefield and Sheryll (Dave) Ulshafer in Wabash.

Cory was a 2003 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked at Clover Blossom Honey in LaFontaine. Cory volunteered at The Access Youth Center in Wabash and was a member of the Beekeepers of Indiana. He had a passion for Ford Mustangs and loved raising queen bees.
Along with his parents, Cory is survived by a brother, Derek (Danielle) Shenefield, LaFontaine, Indiana.  Maternal grandmothers, Betty Smith, Andrews, Indiana and Connie Smith, Lagro, Indiana.  Paternal grandfather, Don Shenefield, LaFontaine, Indiana.  Two nieces, Taylor and Kenzie Shenefield.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Smith and paternal grandmother, Janice Shenefield.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940 with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service starting at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery.

Paul Everett Ross

Paul E. Ross, 84, of Wabash, Indiana, died on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1:50 p.m. at Vernon Health & Rehabilitation, Wabash.  He was born on May 30, 1933 in Wabash to William and Ledema (Bowman) Ross, Sr.

Paul (A-que-nack-que) was a member of the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana.  Paul worked for 40 years for Laketon Refinery, retiring in 2009.  He was member of the Wabash Eagles Lodge and Wabash Moose Lodge for many years.  He enjoyed remodeling houses, working on cars and being outdoors.

Paul is survived by his wife, Doris Ross. His former wife and mother of his children, Alice Ross of Roann. Three Daughters; Ladonna Sue Snyder and Debra Ross Webb, both of Wabash and Lorna (Tom) Ross Miller, Houston, Texas. Son, Jamie (Margaret) Ross, Houston, Texas. Stepdaughter, Elizabeth Gill, four granddaughters; Allison Snyder of Roann, Paula Ross of Peru, Jennifer Ross and Cayli Miller of Houston Texas. Five grandsons; Dennis John Snyder and Sean Garrett both of Wabash, Jaime Ross, Mathew Ross, Warren Miller of Houston, Texas. Six great-grandchildren, Kristin Snyder and Jayden Simpson of Wabash, Peyton and Auston Garrett of Wabash, Elana and Bailey Ross of Houston, Texas. One Brother, Russell (Joan) Ross, Wabash and one sister, Laura Wilburn. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diana Kay, three brothers and nine sisters.

Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana  46992.

There will be no funeral service.

Preferred memorial is to the Wabash County Animal Shelter.
