Jerry Gene Mullett

Jerry Mullett, 78, a Lifetime resident of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10:08 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Wabash County Hospital in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late Garl “Pruny” and Josephine (Siders) Mullett on May 27, 1936 in Wabash, Indiana.
Jerry served his country in the United States Army. He married Judy Airgood on June 15, 1992, she survives. Jerry was a member of the Hanna Lodge #61, American Legion Post 15, VFW Post 286 and FOP Lodge 83 all of Wabash, Indiana. Jerry retired as a decorated Wabash City Police Officer and former Chief of Police, he also spent 11 years as Street Commissioner with the City of Wabash retired in 1998.
He is also survived by a son, Brett Mullett of Wabash, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Kelly) Smith of Logansport, Indiana and Mrs. Ryan (Tracy) Short of Wabash, Indiana; two step daughters, Mrs. Scott (Tina) Lorenz of Wabash, Indiana and Mrs. Keith (Teresa) Devine of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Steffan Short (Ciara) of Bloomington, Indiana, Brooklyn Guenin (Tyler) of LaFontaine, Indiana, Sydni Mullett, Kendyl Mullett, D.J. Bricker, and Ashley Bricker all of Wabash, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his two brothers.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Preferred memorials are directed to American Legion Post 15 of Wabash or Church of Christ at Treaty.
A private service for close friends and family will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with Masonic Rites given at 6 p.m.. Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Oakes. Mabel Smedley

Mabel Smedley, 97, of LaFontiane, Indiana passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born to the late George and Zoe (Scott) Guyer on January 17, 1917 in Marion, Indiana.
Mabel married Jewell Smedley on December 24, 1939, he passed away on November 24, 1984. She was a homemaker to her family. Mabel was a member of Boundry Line Church of Christ in Wabash, Indiana.
She is survived by two sons, Moe Smedley (Carol) of Warsaw, Indiana and Max Smedley of Palmdale, California; daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Suzanne) Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Cathy Trout (Brian), Chris Smedley (Wendy), Kim Bradshaw (Scott), Sarah Allan (Drew), and Jared Thompson; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.

Tex Ritter

Tex. W. Ritter, 71, passed away at 3 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at his rural Macy, Indiana residence. He was born to the late Rufus George and Martha Lou (Cressel) Ritter on August 27, 1942 in Eccles, West Virginia.
Tex married Rebecca J. Nelson in 1978, she survives. He retired from Smurfit Stone Co. after 38 ½ years. He loved animals, fishing, and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is also survived by two sons, Daniel W. Ritter of Peru, Indiana and Chad W. Nelson (Lesley) of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Annette M. Webb (Gerald) of Wabash, Indiana, Bobbi L. Ritter of Houma, Louisiana and Virginia M. Nelson of Wabash, Indiana; brother, Wayne VanDyke, Sr. of Marion, Ohio; sister, Crystal Cooper (Doc) of Wabash, Indiana; five grandsons, Kristopher Webb and Trey Villegas of Houma, Louisiana, Cory Ritter of Evansville, Indiana, Coty Ritter (Jackie) of Evansville, Indiana and Weslee Nelson of Wabash, Indiana; three granddaughters, Ali Webb of Old Town, Florida, Ellen Webb and Paige Nelson both of Wabash, Indiana; and three great granddaughters, Ivory Halloway of Wabash, Indiana, Emily and Savannah Thomas of Old Town, Florida.

L. Annabelle Bahler

L. Annabelle Bahler, 94, formerly of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in The Cedars in Leo, Indiana. She was born to the late Dennis and Emma (Lavengood) Pottenger on August 21, 1920 in Wabash, Indiana.
Annie attended Wabash High School. She married Fred Bahler on April 20, 1963, he passed away on September 29, 1980. She was a member of Washington Street Wesleyan Church of Wabash, Indiana. She retired from Wabash County Hospital after 34 years.
Annie was a gifted artist, her beloved oil and watercolor paintings ranged from portraits to landscapes to old train depots. She was best known for her painting of historic landmarks in Wabash County, some of which are on display in public buildings in Wabash. In addition to her art, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, reading, and corresponding with friends and family.
Annie is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Judith) Wolff of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Christian Wolff of Portland, Oregon, Rick Wolff (Ann) of Wheaton, Illinois, and Angie Ogino (Scott Eads) of Lagro, Indiana; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Eugene Miller, grandson, Aaron, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Rev. Steve Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion, Indiana.

Scott E. Lawrence

Scott E. Lawrence, 49, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 6:36 pm. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born to John and Marie (Duncan) Lawrence on December 16, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana, they both survive in Hampton, Florida.
Scott married Malissa J. Stouffer on December 16, 1988, she survives. He was a mechanic and carpet installer.
Scott is also survived by two sons, Bradley and John Lawrence both of LaFontaine, Indiana; daughter, Amanda Finton of LaFontaine, Indiana; three brothers, John Lawrence of Arkansas, William Lawrence of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Gregory Lawrence of Brookston, Indiana; sister, Angela Lawrence of Arkansas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Burial will follow in the Mississinewa Cemetery in Somerset, Indiana.

Hugh E. "Bud" Martin

Hugh E. “Bud” Martin, 90, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 3:08 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born to the late Chester and Sylvia (Burrous) Martin on March 5, 1924 in Walton, Indiana.
Hugh graduated from Walton High School in 1942, he attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He married Ruth Ellen Jefferson on August 12, 1950, she passed away in August of 1998. Hugh retired as Plant Manager from Wabash Magnetics after 24 years, he also worked from ATR Coil in Bloomington, Indiana. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII from 1944-1945. He was a member of the American Legion in Walton, Indiana, he was also a member of the Asbury County Church in Wabash, Indiana.
He is survived by a step son, David L. Jefferson (Carol) of Holyoke, Massachusetts; one step grandchild, Laura Leclair of Lynn, Massachusetts, 7 great step grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana, with Pastor John Cook and Pastor Mike Bullick officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
